FEATURED BLOGGER OF THE MONTH

Ca’Sandra Phillips is our Featured Blogger of the month for April.  As a member of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel 2011,  she assists guests with all types of questions about Walt Disney World. She uses her experiences of visiting Disney without her children, while pregnant, while breastfeeding with an infant, and taking along baby gear and strollers to provide just the right answers.

Ca’Sandra visits Disney World at least two times per year because she lives in Atlanta, but mainly because she is a Disney freak! Her husband, a computer analyst and Disney fan, and her 2 children–a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son–are part of her trips and have taken quite a liking to the World as well.  She says,

My daughter, Madison, has taken after me and acquired a love for all things Disney.  My son, Landon, is starting to recognize Mickey Mouse and does a happy dance anytime he’s watching the Disney Channel.  Both children took trips to Walt Disney World before they could say their first words.

Beginning with her first trip to Disney World with her parents in 1987, Ca’Sandra became infatuated with Disney. She feels like a kid when she’s there and shuts off the real world while enjoying seeing Disney through her children’s eyes and through other means too.  Her favorite memory of Disney is when she was 6 months pregnant with her son in 2009. She was watching  Wishes while her son, Landon, began moving in sync with the fireworks and her daughter was able to feel her baby brother moving around her belly!

When friends tease her about her frequent trips to Disney, she knows she’ll get the last laugh when they ask her for advice in planning their own trip. It may help that her friends see the mementos including tickets, park maps and photos that Ca’Sandra keeps. That may spur them on to get Disney fever.

As a professional who works in outreach with a national non-profit, Ca’Sandra travels often. She also enjoys spending time with her family, reading and volunteering. Every day she thinks about her next vacation to Walt Disney World.  When chosen as a member of the Mom’s Panel, she cried, because it meant that much to her.

Ca’Sandra believes in the quote by Walt Disney himself, “All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them”. She has leaned on this quote during a difficult pregnancy, during Graduate school and in her career. She wants her children to live by this quote as well. It sounds like Madison is on her way–she wants to live in Cinderella’s Castle!

The Flight of Peter Pan and Space Mountain are her favorite attractions. She also enjoys Spaceship Earth as it brings back memories of her first trip to Disney World with her parents. Now Ca’Sandra is making memories of her own with her family and helping other families make lasting memories as a Mom’s Panel Memory. Yes, dreams can come true!
