Here are a few news stories that have been highlighted so far this week in the Disney world:

Disney fans are saddened by the passing of not one, but two Disney legends over the weekend and these two Legends worked side by side for years.  Wally Boag and Betty Taylor, both former cast members at Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe Revue, passed away this past weekend.  Boag was 90 and Taylor was 91.

Victoria and Albert’s has been awarded a very high honor for the 11th year in a row! The restaurant has received the AAA Five-Diamond award, which is the highest honor that AAA can bestow on a restaurant.  This Grand Floridian establishment was only one of 55 restaurants the received this honor for 2011.

Walt Disney World will be keeping the Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom while an investigation continues on an attractions mechanic’s death back in March.  The attraction has been closed since January for general maintenance and was to open in April, but after the accident, the ride will be staying closed because of the investigation and because the refurbishment has not been completed.  The current scheduled reopening is September 14th.

Microsoft and Disney are teaming up to make a new and exciting experience for Disney fans for the Xbox Kinect.  Kinect Disneyland Adventures is a new game that allows the player to actually walk through the Disneyland theme park, experiencing games and some of the fun that exists in the actual theme park.  More details will be coming out as the year progresses and the scheduled release date is around the holidays 2011.
