Date Night in Paris

Ashley is a lifelong Disney enthusiast and vacationer. She has been visiting Walt Disney World in Florida since she was young. Even though she has ventured all over the United States and the globe, Disney World is still her favorite place to vacation. The beautiful state of Tennessee is where she lives with her husband, Mike and their two dogs, a.k.a ."fur children" Griffin and Grady. When not working full time in higher education, Ashley loves to spend time cooking, gardening, exercising, reading Disney websites and planning Disney vacations!

Whether you are on a family vacation or a romantic getaway for two, it is a good idea to set aside at least one date night with your significant other. There are so many romantic experiences to be shared at Walt Disney World! My husband, Mike, and I honeymooned at Disney this past September. We had numerous romantic dates, so I thought it would be fun to do a Walt Disney World date night series!

Is there any place on earth more romantic than Paris? Probably not, but lucky for us there is the stunning France Pavilion in the World Showcase at Epcot! The gorgeous architecture, French music, and delicious dining options make this the perfect scene for a romantic date at Disney World.

To set the stage for a perfect date night, make sure to take the time to get a little bit more dressed up than you normally would for an excursion to the park. There is no need to be uncomfortable, but put on a little makeup and a cool dress (ladies) or a nice button down shirt (gentlemen). This extra effort will make the evening seem a little bit more special.

I like to start a date night out by having a nice relaxed dinner. Make sure to have Advance Dining Reservations, you don’t want to have to wait too long for a table. We absolutely love Les Chefs de France, but are also hoping to try Monsieur Paul which is a bit more upscale (and expensive). You can’t go wrong with either of these dining options in the France Pavilion. Les Chefs de France can get a little bit loud, so feel free to ask for a quiet table. They may or may not be able to accommodate this request, but it is worth asking. Take time to really enjoy your meal. Maybe have a glass of wine or share a delicious dessert or two!

Fresh Strawberry Cream Cake with Raspberry Sauce and Strawberry Sorbet… Delicious!

After dinner, browse through some of the shops and head over to see the stunning “Impressions de France”. The music and scenery of this show are incredibly beautiful, it is a very special attraction.

Depending on what time it is you may want to explore a little bit more or enjoy the view of the lagoon. You will want to find a good spot to view the Illuminations fireworks show which normally starts at 9:00. While you are waiting on the fireworks, maybe enjoy a cocktail from the little wine bar by the water, or (if you are not too full from your amazing dinner) enjoy a pastry from Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie.

Conclude your romantic evening by enjoying Illuminations Reflections of Earth. Take your time exiting the park, leisurely walk through some of the other countries, which are stunning at night, and enjoy the beautiful lights and music.

When you are home you can even replicate this date night! Make a recipe from Les Chefs de France (the recipe for Gratin de Macaroni is on Disney Travel and Leisure) and enjoy listening to the music from Impressions de France found here. Turn the lights down and light a candle or two, pop open a bottle of wine and you will have your own little Paris in the comfort of home.

Happy date night love birds!!
