Thankul for the Happiness of Disney – A Month of Thanks

Sherri J. (NDM#237) (57 Posts)

Sherri grew up in Beckley, West Virginia watching “Wonderful World of Disney” every Sunday night. She studied art at West Virginia University, which led to an appreciation of Walt Disney’s genius as an artist. Later, she and Mark, NDD#102, met and married and only afterwards realized that they were both huge fans of the Disney brand. Since discovering that they are “Disney people” Sherri and her husband have made yearly trips to Walt Disney World, while raising their three children to believe that wishes can come true. While at work, she enjoys being referred to as the “Disney guru.”

As part of our “A Month of Thanks” celebration, we asked our readers and contributors to share their stories about why they are thankful for Disney. Here is just one of those submitted. If you would like to share why you are thankful for Disney, please see this article or contact Maria (NDM 130)

The reasons I am thankful for having Disney in my life are so very many. It has brought so much happiness to my family and myself over the years that I am having a difficult time coming up with just a few things to write. Disney has made us laugh and cry with the wonderful movies it makes. We have such fun visiting the parks every year and acting like kids. Where else can you wear silly hats and shirts and not worry about people looking at you like you are crazy while enjoying popcorn, cotton candy and a Mickey Bar all at the same time. It is the one place we go where we see our children act like little kids again. They are 19 and 14 now, but Disney seems to take 10 years off of them while we are at the resort and parks. I am not the best writer, so I thought I would add some pictures to help get my message across. They include my husband showing how happy he is to finally meet Mr. Toad, my daughter riding Jingles ( Mary Poppins horse ), the joy of seeing the park Marching Band playing a concert and other fun and silly times. I guess it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words and these pictures help show the happiness Disney has given our family.Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post Sherri J thankful post
