Disney Cruise Line Entertainment

Jackie P (15 Posts)

I have visited the Disney Parks, (Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts) over twenty-five times, visited Aulani, and sailed nine times with Disney Cruise Line on all four ships in the fleet. Having a special needs family member places another dimension of planning for and visiting the Disney Parks and sailing with Disney, and I have to say that it is these vacations that have allowed us to see the greatest developmental improvements in our now teen aged son.

The Walt Disney Company is number one at entertainment and it doesn’t stop at Disney Parks or Disney movies. The superb entertainment is carried over to all four ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. An abundance of activities and events await all guests that captivate everyone regardless of age. Disney Imagineers have gone above and beyond with every detail be it tiny or huge.

Disney Cruise Line has many itineraries and the entertainment is varied depending on the length of cruise.

Character Greetings

Guests will be amazed at the daily opportunities for character greets, photo opportunities and autographs. Listed daily in the Personal Navigator hard copy as well as in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, all guests are well informed about these events. Professional photographers are readily available to take a photo to be added in a guests’ collection or they will gladly use a guests camera to photograph. A list of characters is available on the Disney Cruise Line website at: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com

Live Shows

All four ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet have the magnificent Walt Disney Theatre, reminiscent of the Golden Age of Hollywood, yet filled with state-of-the-art technologies.  Shows featured are Broadway caliber, Disney themed shows, which thrill and entertain all guests.

Some nights feature family-friendly variety acts such as magicians, acrobats and hypnotists, depending on the itinerary. The list of shows and their times are listed in the hard copy Personal Navigator as well as on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App.

Disney Movies

An abundance of recent Disney hits and popular Disney movies are shown almost all day long, everyday in the Buena Vista Theatre onboard every ship. As well, Disney movie premEARS are shown both at Buena Vista Theatre and  Walt Disney Theatre, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy a film’s opening the same day it debuts on land, nationwide.

Nightclubs and Lounges

Adults have ample opportunities to enjoy themselves at the many and uniquely themed lounges, nightclubs and bars onboard every ship. A variety of entertainment is available nightly, such as variety acts, live musical entertainment, and dancing. Sports fans won’t miss their favourite events either, at the sports bar available on all four ships. Coffee fanatics won’t miss a beat at the adult only lounge where they can enjoy a variety of beverages, watch television, surf the internet, read books, magazines and newspapers.

Pools

Many freshwater pools are available for children, families and adults on the entire fleet. Each pool area is uniquely themed, family and children’s pools are supervised by lifeguards. Life vests for children are available near the children’s pool.

Water slides, water coasters, and body slides are all supervised and managed by life guards. The Disney Magic, the first ship in the fleet, was re-imagined and now sports the single-rider body slide called The AquaDunk; the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy boast the tandem water coaster circling the perimeter of their ships, called The AquaDuck.

The Disney Fantasy, the fourth and newest ship in the fleet, has an additional boost of serenity called Satellite Falls. This is an adult-exclusive area on Deck 13 Forward. It’s a circular, gentle splash pool with benches and an enjoyable, gentle caressing rain fall. As well, the Disney Fantasy has a wading pool area on Deck 12 Forward with shaded lounge chairs nearby.

Deck Parties

Enough cannot be said about the unbelievable deck parties that deliver that Disney magic in the open-air and are filled with live music, characters and lots of dancing. Guests have the chance of appearing on the massive FunnelVision screen on deck.

The Sail-Away Celebration heralds the beginning of every cruise on all ships. This dance party sets the tone of the cruise, which will be filled with loads of fun, characters, music, entertainment and dancing.
