This week’s Throwback Thursday needs very little introduction. Please enjoy these photos I found of the Skyway over Fantasyland. Technically, this attraction was called Skyway to Tomorrowland, as it departed from Fantasyland with Tomorrowland as its destination. The Skyway was a gondola lift attraction that was very popular. It was a great way to see the park and travel between lands. I love the glimpses of other Fantasyland favorites, such as the Carousel and Pinocchio’s Village Haus. If you look carefully in the photo featuring Space Mountain in the background, you can even see an old ticket booth. I am unsure of the exact year, but from the looks of the photos, I am would say late ’70’s early ’80’s. What memories do you have of the Skyway?
I spy It’s a Small World and the exit area of Pinocchio’s Village Haus.
