During our last trip I got to check out the additions to the Harambe Marketplace at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I’d like to have tried the food and drinks, but I wanted to make the most of my time and try for some good photographs, especially in the new areas.
If you’ve been to Harambe, you probably get the sense that you’ve stepped into another land, exactly as the Imagineers intended. And for good reason. The pre-expansion details are amazing, and as deeply layered as you might expect from any park or resort area.
The Harambe Marketplace expansion doesn’t disappoint. I tried to capture photos that show the obvious and subtle, all the while enjoying the impression that I’d traveled far from home to a town that would serve as a jumping off point on a new adventure.
I can’t wait to get back and have a chance to shoot this area, and the whole park really, later in the day and at night. There are many great Disney photographers out there, and they’ve posted spectacular shots from Animal Kingdom and Harambe.
