Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!

  • Page Count: 40
  • On Sale June 6, 2017

From the publisher:

Many see Time as a friend and many see Time as a foe.

But for a sleeping beauty, Time was a promise.

Born into royalty and surrounded by fairy godmothers, a sweet princess seems destined for a blissful life. But when a bitter fairy casts a curse, it will take true friends and true love to save her.
The story of Sleeping Beauty has been told time and time again, but never has it been touched by the kind of magic found in this book. Newbery Medal-winner Cynthia Rylant’s unforgettable retelling of the beloved fairytale is a lyrical read-aloud, and paired with Erin McGuire’s vibrant illustrations, this is the perfect book for sharing with loved ones.
The NDK Review:

Sleeping Beauty is the same story that everyone knows. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite princess, so of course I liked this story. The illustrations in the story are really pretty. This is an easy reading book. It would make a great bedtime story!

From the publisher:

“NOOOOOOO! I don’t want to go to the pool. What if . . . the water is too cold?” says Holly.

Holly the hippo imagines the worst: icebergs and icy water, penguins and seals! Her imagination bursts at every turn, making it harder and harder for her to step foot in the pool.

Until she get the chance to be a hero. Holly may be scared, but she is a very brave girl.

The NDK Review:

Holly’s Day at the Pool is a cute story about a pig that does not want to go into the pool. Holly lets her imagination get the best of her and she thinks of the worst possible things that could be in her pool! The illustrations in this story are adorable. They are colorful and make her horrible images not so horrible. Holly learns to face her fears and be a big girl. This book is perfect for anyone afraid to jump in to anything when they are scared!

Since Ellie saved her home with her wonderful paintings, the zoo is back in business and the animals are more energetic than ever. All except for Lucy the giraffe, who hasn’t been able to sleep with all the noise. Determined to help her friend, Ellie tries to tone down the ruckus and organizes the animals into an orchestra. But is it possible to conduct the cacophony of the zoo into beautiful music?

The NDK Review:

Ellie in Concert is a cute bedtime story about an elephant who is trying to help her friend fall asleep. Ellie is a great friend who will do anything to help a person in need. The illustrations are colorful and friendly and feature many animals. I like how the story is about music and sounds. This would make a fun bedtime story! Don’t forget to grab the FREE activities download for this story at the end!

From the publisher:

All Rupert the mouse wants is to star in a beautiful, wordless picture book. One that’s visually stimulating! With scenic pictures! And style!  He has plenty of ideas about what makes a great book, but his friends just WON’T. STOP. TALKING.

Children and adults alike will chuckle at this comedic take on bookmaking from acclaimed author-illustrator Ryan T. Higgins.

The NDK Review:

Be Quiet is about a mouse who wants to make a wordless book. His only problem is that his friends are very talkative! This book is fun because it reads like a comic book. This makes it not like your normal story book. The illustrations are very detailed. This story is funny and I promise you will laugh! This is a great take-a-break-and-read book for anyone.
