It's a Secret

Welcome to THE CONFESSIONAL.  This is the place where you can divulge your deepest, darkest, most neurotic things you have done in times of Disney desperation.  Don’t be ashamed.  We’ve all had these moments.  Make yourself comfy in our confessional chair and tell us. What are the things you have done in order to get your Disney “fix”?

I regularly participate in Disney Institute Twitter chats during work hours and bill it as "training" on my timesheet.

I listen to resort audio, park area loops, and ride audio all the time, especially at work and in the car.

I have a particular crowd estimator/wait time app on my smartphone that I use when planning one of our many family (planned and spur of the moment) trips to Disneyland/DCA. My confession is this: I check the app Everyday. EVERY- DAY. Even the days we are not going to DL/DCA. I will tell my husband "OMG! The wait for Radiator Springs Racers was 180 minutes today!" or "Wow, the wait for Autopia is longer than Indiana Jones and Space Mountain combined!" I can't help it. lol

In 1996, I went to WDW with my wife. The taxi driver gave us a somewhat negative portrait of the recent evolution of WDW at that time (too much hotels, too much this, too much that, blabla). That was quite hard to get rid of it and really enjoy because our stay was short (it was in fact a business trip). Now, I rent a car and I try to get positive. I know WDW is not perfect (and can't be), but I decided I should not care because there is so much good things to enjoy there. Thankfully, now, our 2 kids are there to remind us to "have fun"! But maybe you already heard that at the end of a show... 😉

Went to WDW in October for my birthday with my twin daughters. We were pleasantly surprised with a soft opening of Fantasyland (yay!!) There was only one thing to do....Yes, I have booked a trip to WDW in June with my kids, my sister, and her kids and I'm about to book a cruise for October. What could I do? The cruise starts on my birthday!!

I had to get a little fix, so a few days before my birthday I booked a trip to Orlando for the day. Got on a flight in BWI, went to the parks and then came home all in the same day. Luck was with me... the Magic Kingdom was almost empty

When walking into Cars Land with my family for the first time I started to cry. It was beautiful and exciting. I quickly put on my sunglasses so nobody(the kids) would see. Yes, Disney has that kind of power. It's the Disney magic!

When I was in high school, i had a weird habit of bringing Disney into almost any any activity. Some examples:
1)For our unit on Lord of the Flies, my 10th grade English teacher had us break into groups to do an activity based around deserted islands, which we had to name. I convinced my group to name our island "Castaway Cay"-Disney's private island. I then got into a debate with the teacher over the spelling of "Cay"-she thought it was "key." I printed out the proper spelling from the DCL website, and got extra credit!
2)For a book review assignment in that same class, I reviewed the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (got an A-plus).
3)In my AP World History class, the principal came in one day to complain about the low SAT grades, and asked us if we had been reading anything. My response-"I'm not sure if this counts, but I read the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2006." My teacher burst into laughter.
4) During an academic team trip to Boston in 2007, I went into a Barnes and Noble with the club advisor and bought Kim Wiley's"WDW with Kids."

I've been spending all of my free time planning a trip for me and my bf to Disney World that's almost 2 years away and talking about it to my bf everyday for probably the last month. I don't even know if he wants to go.
