Welcome to THE CONFESSIONAL. This is the place where you can divulge your deepest, darkest, most neurotic things you have done in times of Disney desperation. Don’t be ashamed. We’ve all had these moments. Make yourself comfy in our confessional chair and tell us. What are the things you have done in order to get your Disney “fix”?
Total Confessions: 154
I was laid off from work in March 2010 because the studio I worked for went out of business. Against everyone's advice I still took my yearly WDW vacation in June! I just cancelled my on-site reservation and stayed off site and stayed a few days less to save money. Being laid off after working there for 14 years was traumatic and I NEEDED the Disney Magic to make me feel better!! :)
My DH and I both have vanity Disney plates. Mine is FanoDsny (Fan of Disney) and my DH's is WWWDD? (What would Walt Disney Do?)
Love the Podcast - keeps me in the Mouse mood!
I was in NYC for work the weekend after the opening of the new store and tricked a co-worker into heading innocently to Times Square.. he didn't realize my goal was the Disney Store!
So a few years back, I went to the Wedding Pavilion at WDW and pretended that I was a bride to be. I got a tour of Franck's, the pavilion setup for a wedding, and even went so far as to switch one of my rings to my left hand. I can't wait to find my prince charming and to get married at WDW. :)
To keep in the Disney mood, I play Bibbidi-Bobbi-Bach and Hi-Ho Motzart at work. Everyone thinks it is classical music, but I know better.
BTW, here is a good trivia question: What was the subject of the first ermon in Pollyana?
I have a client that are snowbirds and have a winter home in Ft. Myers. For the past 4 years, I've been given to job of driving their personal car back and forth from Massachusetts to Florida. The drive time non-stop is 23 hours. But wouldn't you know, the only way to get to and from Ft. Myers is passing Disney World. So it doesn't matter which direction I'm heading, I build in a quick 2 day stop at the parks to get my fix!
I go to sites online that I can get points or money for shopping, looking at web site and doing surveys, that I cash in for my spending money for my next trip
I don't carry a wallet or cash, rather prefer to simply carry around my ID, major credit/debit card, 1 business card, medical insurance card and.... the key to the world. Mind you, I was at WDW back in June, I still carry it around as if ready to swipe it in the bio scanner or plop it down ready to purchase an awesome meal. I have no immediate plans to retire it to the box that has all 30 GAD cards, 4 years of other KTTW cards or unused fast passes, reciepts and welcome packages... no sure which is more worthy to be included in 'this place'. Worst, next trip isn't for another 8 months. Gulp.
I'm using my husband's current deployment as an excuse to plan our next trip to WDW as a "welcome home" trip. Yes, it's for him....but it's just as much for me too! Hey, we're staying at the Polynesian cuz I know he'd like it! So, that's something. :)
Yesterday I needed a Disney fix so during work I spontaneously bought 2 tickets to see Mary Poppins as it is in Buffalo right now. My DD12 and I went last night it was AMAZING!!
