Sherri J.

Sherri grew up in Beckley, West Virginia watching “Wonderful World of Disney” every Sunday night. She studied art at West Virginia University, which led to an appreciation of Walt Disney’s genius as an artist. Later, she and Mark, NDD#102, met and married and only afterwards realized that they were both huge fans of the Disney brand. Since discovering that they are “Disney people” Sherri and her husband have made yearly trips to Walt Disney World, while raising their two children to believe that wishes can come true. While at work, she enjoys being referred to as the “Disney guru.”

February DDL Riddle

The other day I was daydreaming about past trips to Walt Disney World. This time my thoughts were on Animal Kingdom Park. This is one of my favorite places to be. I love the rides and shows in this park, but most of all I love the plants and animals. The riddle for February has to do with the tigers of Animal Kingdom Park. What is the name of the trail/attraction the tigers are found on?

Submit your answer to ddlriddle@thedisneydrivenlife.com by midnight, Feb.28th for a chance to win a Disney magnet. Best of luck to you!

December DDL Riddle

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”

There is nothing more relaxing than sitting back and enjoying the great movies associated with the holidays. One of my favorite is Disney’s A Christmas Carol featuring the talents of Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman. Carrey is fantastic as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, but he doesn’t stop there. For the riddle this month, can you name one other character that Carrey provides the voice for in this movie?

November DDL Riddle

Our family really enjoys watching Phineas and Ferb. The show is fun, creative and has some awesome music in it. I love the relationship between Phineas, Ferb and Candace. It reminds me of my own son and daughter. The riddle this month focuses on Candace. Her character is voiced by an already popular Disney gal who displayed her talent in a few other Disney shows and movies. Who is she and what is one other show/movie she has been in for Disney?

Submit your answer to ddlriddle@thedisneydrivenlife.com by midnight on November 30 for a chance to win a Disney Christmas ornament. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

March DDL Riddle

Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! It doesn’t get much better than the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World. When you enter the queue you feel as if you have entered an awesome fort. Once you are in the boat the fun begins. The original ride was a “blast”, but thefun has been increased by the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow. For the riddle this month, can you tell me how many times Captain Jack Sparrow appears during the ride?

Happy New Year! I hope everyone is ready for another great year full of all things Disney. This Christmas Santa brought my family a puppy, so this month our riddle deals with Disney dogs. From Pluto to Bolt, Disney has given us wonderful dogs to love. As a fun twist, the riddle this month deals with a movie primarily about a cat. In Oliver and Company, can you name any dogs from other Disney movies that make a cameo appearance?

December DDL Riddle

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” What a great song and what a wonderful holiday. I love this time of year! For December’s DDL riddle I have a Disney Christmas movie question. In Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Scrooge McDuck plays Ebenezer Scrooge and Mickey Mouse plays Bob Cratchit. Which loveable Disney character stars as the ghost of Jacob Marley?

November DDL Riddle

November is the month for Thanksgiving, family, football and The Muppets. That’s right. Our friends from the Muppet Show are returning in the Disney movie The Muppets. We will be reunited with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the gang. Two of my favorite Muppets are Statler and Waldorf. I love their funny comments about the other characters. They’re one of my favorite parts of the Muppetvision 3D show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

October DDL Riddle

“When the crypt goes creak,

And the tombstones quake.

Spooks come out for a swinging wake.

Happy haunts materialize,

And begin to vocalize.

Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize.”

So sing the happy haunts of The Haunted Mansion.   The imposing house, graveyard, howls and creaks make this one of my favorite attractions.  For the October riddle, I need you to see into the ride, possibly with the help of Madame Leota.  As you are exiting the ride, the bride at the top of the doorway tells you to hurry back.  She also tells you not to forget something.  What is it she wants you to bring back with you?

August DDL Riddle Winner

Congratulations to Ray K., NDD # 85. He is the August DDL Riddle winner. Ray knew Michael Keaton (Batman, Batman Returns) voiced Ken in Toy Story 3 and Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) did the voice of Thomas in Pocahontas.  Michael Keaton also provided the voice to bad guy Chick Hicks in Cars.  I wasn’t aware that Christian Bale appeared in Pocahontas.  Thanks to all the DDL Riddle participants who informed me of that.   I had another Batman in mind.  Adam West (of the 1960’s Batman movie and TV show) voiced Ace in Chicken Little and Uncle Art in Meet the Robinsons.

Ray’s knowledge of both Batman and Disney movies won him a Disney trading pin.  Thanks to everyone who participated in last month’s Riddle.  Don’t forget to check out September’s Riddle for a chance to win a Halloween costume from  Halloweencostumes.com.

September DDL Riddle

On October 2nd, I will be at Mickey’s Not –So-Scary Halloween Party for the first time. I am so excited to see the Headless Horseman ride down Main Street! In anticipation of this event, I am going to watch Walt Disney’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, based on the story by Washington Irving. While I enjoy the whole movie, my favorite part is when Ichabod meets the Headless Horseman up close and personal.
