Ideas that Stick

I recently downloaded an audiobook on iTunes titled “Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die” by Chip Heath and Dan Heath.  Not only is the message fascinating, but the narrator reminds me of “The Most Interesting Man in the World” character from those Dos Equis commercials.

LEMONADE MOUTH REVIEW

Copyright: Disney

Sunday is movie night in our household. This week we had Lemonade Mouth on the DVR, so we all sat down to watch it. If you have not seen the movie yet, turn back now as there will be spoilers included this review. I figured it would be a typical Disney made-for-TV musical in the mold of High School Musical. Boy, was I wrong. I thought the movie was very well made and not as predictable as most made-for-TV movies are.

EARLY LEARNING WITH BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE

As a parent and educator, one of of the items that has always made me happy with Disney is the ability to put snippets of learning into everything. Even their programing for toddlers has been top notch. When my oldest was little, we used to watch Playhouse Disney. We’re talking long before Disney Junior when Clay, not Ooh and Aah, was the host of the morning programing.

PHINEAS AND FERB HOOKS KIDS AND ADULTS

As a parent, I’m always trying to keep an eye out on everything that my 6-year-old is getting into – whether it’s what’s going on in school, what video game he’s currently interested in, what he’s reading.

One of the things I try to keep an eye on as much as school, is what he’s watching on TV, and, thanks to this, I discovered one of the best cartoons I’ve seen in a while. I can’t believe all the laughs I’ve had watching it with him.  I am talking about Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb, which debuted back in 2007.  My son discovered this one day before I did, and, with it being on Disney Channel, I was a bit more content with letting him watch.
