Doug Ingersoll never visits the Magic Kingdom without spending some time in the Enchanted Tiki Room. There, he feels the presence of his long-departed Aunt Dorothy.
Originally from Indiana, Ingersoll spent much of his youth living and attending school around the world. His father’s work abroad forced Ingersoll to live away from his hometown, his friends and his extended family throughout most of the year. Returning to the Unites States to visit family each summer, he would stop first in Tampa to spend some time with Aunt Dorothy, his “spiritual grandmother.” During each annual visit, Aunt Dorothy would take Ingersoll to Disney World.
Here’s a story of a lovely lady who was bringing up three very lovely girls (and one boy). All of them had spunk, like their mother, and went to Disney World. Here’s the story, of a man named Hannon who was busy with two kids of his own. They were three NDPs, living all together, but had they only known…
Imagine visiting the Magic Kingdom for the first time as a kindergartener. Imagine being fascinated by a topiary in the shape of an elephant. Imagine being nervous during a submarine voyage, being whisked in the air on a “Skyway,” or observing life-sized costume characters water ski while you passed by on a ferry boat. Our NDPs of the month didn’t imagine these moments; they lived them. They also didn’t imagine that all of that would one day play a critical part in them finding their future soulmate, but it did. Meet the Neurotic Disney People for this month, Brent and Maria Hannon (NDD#146 and NDM#130).

Hey, everyone! It’s time for the April/2011 accomplishments and/or milestones from some Neurotic Disney People in the Disney Driven Community!
NDD #142 and NDM #363, (Charles & Vanessa A.) in TX made their last Disney Vacation Club payment!
In this video by John Donahue of WDWParkhoppers.com, the Disney Royal Family 5K is showcased. At around the two minute mark, inner mouse gets a shout out because our very own bloggers, Shalon (NDI 167) and Betsy (NDI 152), wore their inner mouse shirts for the race! We love when NDPs show their dedication with inner mouse shirts, especially at Disney events. Awesome!
Do you have a photo or video of you or a fellow NDP leading a Disney Driven Life? Send it to us at ddlposts@thedisneydrivenlife.com, and you could be featured in the NDPs in Action column! Be sure to include your name and NDP number in the email, so we can give you proper credit!
In this photo, one of our very own bloggers, Casey Kolb (NDM 309) shows her support for inner mouse by sporting an awesome t-shirt! The shirts are so cool, and they’re a great way to be a Neurotic Disney Person in action! If you’d like to buy one, click here!
Ever seen the stick horse race at Whispering Canyon Cafe? Ever ran in it? In this video, Cory Holland (NDH 8 ) and Brett Young (NDU 2) do, against quite a few kids! Then again, Walt Disney World is all about acting like a kid, even if you are a little taller or a little older!

The Disney Driven Life brings you another episode of inner mouse. In this week’s show, Scott and JL discuss Disney confessions. Scott and JL share some of their own personal confessions concerning strange habits in their Disney lifestyle and read confessions that have been submitted by other Disney fans. Making a special appearance, Jennifer McGill from the 90s Mickey Mouse Club, spills a few confessions of her own in some video clips. Come share the laughs and let us know some of your Disney confessions.
In this adorable video, Sandy Chang’s (NDM 223) youngest children, Violet (age 2) and Carter (age 5) reenact a scene as Hannah and Sid from Toy Story. As Sandy says, “We love all things Disney, and my kids incorporate Disney into their play on most days.” These kids are definitely living the Disney Driven Life!

As I said in last week’s NDPs in Action, when NDPs can’t seem to find a hidden Mickey, they make one themselves. In this photo, Bryan B (NDD 191) is grilling up some fun, and he found a way to channel his Disney Driven Life through his food! Luckily he snapped a photo before he cooked and ate it!
Some people have all the luck. Others just don’t. For whatever reason, some people are given a bad hand when they start out in life. And, yet, as we all know it isn’t really about what we are dealt in life; it is about how we play the game. The NDP of this month is one who took her “unsuited” cards and turned them in to a “full house” that lead to a Disney Driven Life. Meet Lynn W. (NDM #371).
Lynn grew up under circumstances that would cause many people to wilt and become bitter. Hers is the type of pain that more than once has destroyed the life it was inflicted upon. In spite of her difficult situation, though, Lynn strove to find a better path that led her to promise and happiness. She found it in her husband, Dan, and when the two became parents to Corbin six years ago, she knew Disney must play a role in their family unit at some point.
Who needs snowmen when you can have snowmice? In this photo, Steven B (NDI 80) created what he calls a “Not SNOW Hidden Mickey” in Atlanta. Looks like NDPs can find Mickeys everywhere, and if they can’t, they make their own!

The inner mouse meet in Animal Kingdom was a great success. We estimated about 40 people showed up throughout the meet with visits from great personalities like Lou and Deanna Mongello, Matt Hochberg, Tony Caselnova, Steve and Vicki Barrett, and Jackie Gailey. A whole host of DDL bloggers were in our company, so this is your chance to meet some of your very own Neurotic Disney Community. Bear with the choppy video and join us in the inner box for rounds of Moxie shots and lots of interactive fun.
Turns out dogs watch vidcasts too! In this photo, Dexter the Beagle watches an episode of inner mouse. His parents, Adam and Suzie, are very proud of this Neurotic Disney Critter!
