We know how much you love Disney and if you’re anything like me, any second your mind can wander, you’re thinking about your happy place. If you’re lucky enough, you have enough time to think about things you’d like to do on your next trip, where you’ll spend your time, eat, what attractions to visit, where you’re going to stay and all the other details. For those who are even luckier, you’re actually planning a trip right now that’s going to really take place! There are so many different places to look for information when you’re planning – for an upcoming trip or a “some day” trip – and we want to know where you like to find your info. Over the next few weeks, each day you’ll see a new post asking you to nominate your #DisneyFaves in a new category. Please leave your nomination in the comments section (one nomination per person please). You can chat with other Neurotic Disney People about the nominations using the hash tag #DDLFaves during the nomination, voting and awards process. Once the nominations for each category are closed, we’ll open the voting to determine the ultimate favorite for each area. Winners will be announces right here on The Disney Driven Life once the voting has closed. Opinions are important and we can’t wait to hear what y’all think about each group!
How do you incorporate Disney into your everyday life? Maybe it’s scrapbooking your latest vacation or making cards for your family and friends that are Disney themed. Maybe it’s going to see Disney’s latest movie or newest episode of your favorite show on Disney Junior, The Disney Channel or Disney XD. Maybe it’s collecting Disney items for your home or office. There are so many ways that each of you keep Disney active in your daily lives and we want to hear about it! Consider being a contributing blogger for the Disney Driven Life. You can submit posts on a schedule that fits your needs and share your Disney love and knowledge with so many others. Think you don’t have enough ideas to write a post every week or month? Consider writing a guest post for the site about one unique topic. Once you start writing, you’ll be amazed at the ideas you come up with and might turn into a regular blogger before you know it! Leave a comment on this post or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested and we’ll get you set up in no time.
Everyone leading a Disney Driven Life wants to visit their happy place as often as possible. Our very own NDM#268 Natalie H. from TN recently published a book entitled Strategies for Paying for Disney (available for Kindle and in paperback) which will help you do just that. Here’s the official description of the book from Amazon:

We are excited to announce that The Disney Driven Life will be launching it’s new site in beta form on November 27th at 1am. With it we will see the passing of LJ, our unofficial mascot in the chair, and the arrival of our new layout, logo and color scheme. The site aims to be more user friendly and feature our community on a greater level. In fact, if you are counted, it’s possible that you might find your very own smiling face on the new site at some point. Features such as The Confessional and the Official NDP Roster will have a more prominent place, and you can expect to see the continuation of great posts by our panel of bloggers. Join us for this next step in our journey, and grow with us.
2010 was a great year for this Neurotic Disney Family. We made it down to Florida twice – once in April to visit my father and take a day trip to the Magic Kingdom, and once in August to take our annual Walt Disney World Vacation. Jake was almost 4, Ben was 18 months, and Maggie, well she was still in my belly! This trip will forever remain in my heart as one of the best we’ve ever taken. It was full of so many fabulous memories!
Johnny: I wish I had a Laughing Place.
Ginny: Me, too.
Uncle Remus: What makes you think you ain’t? Course you got a
Johnny: Really, Uncle Remus?
Uncle Remus: Everybodys got one. The trouble is, most folks won’t
take time to go look for it.
Johnny, Ginny: Where’s mine?
Uncle Remus: Well, now, that I can’t exactly say. Cause where tis
for one mightn’t be where tis for another.
Johnny: Come on, Ginny. Let’s start looking
One of the most important things to remember while planning a Walt Disney World vacation with little ones, is that you must stay organized! If organization is not a priority to you then it is very easy for chaos to ensue and for everything to fall to pieces. If you are a NDM then being organized should come as second nature to you. You plan out your trip down to when you will use the bathroom. You create detailed packing lists and find great joy in checking off each item as it gets stowed away in your Walt Disney World luggage. Then you arrive at your resort, and unpack everything while your NDH takes the NDKs down to the pool. You put everything in it’s exact spot. Then your Neurotic Disney Family bursts back into the room and in 3 seconds flat everything is laying all over the floor. But have no fear! This does not need to happen! Here is the first half of your Disney Dozen for keeping your hotel room as organized, neat, and tidy as the rest of your trip!
Not only am I am Neurotic Disney Mom, but I have a Neurotic Disney Kid. My son Jake is 4 years old. He will be 5 on August 29th. On August 5th he will be embarking on his 3rd trip to Walt Disney World. Last year we created a chain link count down complete with a plethora of Disney characters on the chains to count down our trip to WDW. Every day he would wake up, and promptly come jump on me, asking me to help him take down another piece of our chain. And then every hour on the hour he would ask “How many days again Mommy?”. This year we decided not to do a count down. What I really wanted to do was surprise him with our trip this year but since he has been going to WDW for the past 2 years every summer, he just kind of assumed we were going. Since he’s only 4 and doesn’t really have a concept of dates, I figure that I can still surprise him the morning of our trip.
In this photo, one of our very own bloggers, Casey Kolb (NDM 309) shows her support for inner mouse by sporting an awesome t-shirt! The shirts are so cool, and they’re a great way to be a Neurotic Disney Person in action! If you’d like to buy one, click here!
I think the most overwhelming thing so far during all of our relocation preparation has been deciding what is most necessary to take with us. I get caught up with the memories, instead of the use of the item, and for such a large move like this, it has to be more about use than anything. Because we aren’t moving any furniture, the majority of storage will be in clear and colored bins. Here is how we have organized our items, and hopefully this helps those of you looking to do the same.
The inner mouse meet in Animal Kingdom was a great success. We estimated about 40 people showed up throughout the meet with visits from great personalities like Lou and Deanna Mongello, Matt Hochberg, Tony Caselnova, Steve and Vicki Barrett, and Jackie Gailey. A whole host of DDL bloggers were in our company, so this is your chance to meet some of your very own Neurotic Disney Community. Bear with the choppy video and join us in the inner box for rounds of Moxie shots and lots of interactive fun.
This bronze statue of Mickey’s main squeeze can be found in the heart of the Magic Kingdom, along with a few of Walt’s other characters. I found that these statues can be hard to take pictures of because this area can be quite busy at times, not to mention the lighting is more direct because of the lack of shade. However, with the right time of day and the right equipment you can really have fun with these small little statues. With the colorful plants behind them and the right angle you would never think that there was a large crowd around. I think that these guys can be fun to take pictures of because they look good in color and in black and white. You typically can take your time with each one of these statues because most people have their attention focused on getting a picture in front of the castle. Please stay tuned, because in the future, I hope to feature a few more of these guys. For now enjoy this one; it’s one of my favorites.
