No person has given the world more memorable entertainment than Walt Disney. From Mickey Mouse to classic feature animation movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the Disney Theme parks, he has left an indelible mark on the world. But for many, his unforgettable music has been his biggest gift. Who can forget such classics as “Chim Chim Cher-ee” or “Feed the Birds” (Walt Disney’s personal favorite) from Mary Poppins. Then there’s the most played song in the world: “It’s a Small World after All”

MAGIC KINGDOM CHANGES

Late last week, the Disney Parks Blog posted about a couple changes being made to Magic Kingdom in the near future. There were two things announced and it’s one of those something old and something new situations

First change is the something old; it is old news that “it’s a small world” is under refurbishment now until October 22^nd. The announced changes include bringing back the old style of queue that the attraction had prior to the 2004-2005 refurbishment. The Imagineers have said that there are no plans during this refurbishment to put Disney characters in the attraction, as seen in other Disney parks.

UNDERDOG, ALPHA-DOG OR SLY DOG

In our family I’ve been homeschooling my children for four years. I started with Margeaux when she was of preschool age, and she has thrived with this educational style. Way back then we began learning the colors and shapes by studying Disney animation, carried on through Disney-centered phonics and math, and then we studied the countries represented in Epcot’s World Showcase. She currently devours advanced Disney-adopted literary classics like Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins even though she is in the first grade, so it is obvious she has been served well with our choice to homeschool. However, Miller has been struggling with his studies at home lately, and it has given me cause for concern.
