WHAT AMENITIES TO EXPECT PER RESORT LEVEL – LESSON 3

Photo credit: Dennis Brown, NDU 5

Amenities!  These are typically what makes a resort one of your favorites!  This review of the amenities is broken down per Resort Level as follows:

1.  Campsite – All campsites are found at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  In addition to rooms in the Campsite Resort Level, you will also find that the Fort Wilderness has rooms at the Moderate Resort Level.  As such, the amenities found for this least expensive Resort Level are great for the price!

Beginning last week, our teacher, Natalie H from http://MeetTheMagic.com, began our lesson on Disney Room Levels by getting an understanding of Resort Seasons and room location.  You may remember that these two variables help determine the room rate per night.  You can attend this lesson by clicking here

WHAT IS IN A RESORT LEVEL? – LESSON 1

Photo credit: Dennis Brown, NDU 5

The Walt Disney Resort includes 24 resorts!  To get an understanding of how Disney prices their rooms, consider the following Resort Level lesson:

Each of the Disney Resorts is included in a Resort Level.  The Resort Levels include the following:  Campsite, Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club (DVC).  These Levels denote the differences in price ranges to be expected, accommodation room types, and amenity differences.  For each Level, room rates vary based on the season of travel and the location of the actual room.

MODERATE BUS SYSTEM

I had visited Disney World for many years before ever staying at a moderate resort. So upon my first stay at a moderate resort, the Caribbean Beach, I was delightfully surprised at the bus system. When a small child and when the prices for the deluxe resorts were more affordable (from my parent’s purse), I had stayed in the monorail resorts. I had even spent many, many nights in the value resorts utilizing their bus system.

DISNEY NEWS AND RUMORS

Several pieces of news have come out of Disney in the last week that I could not just choose one to write about, so here are the summaries of a few big stories in the Disney community.

Name Change for the TTA: Last week, a small but sudden change was made in Tomorrowland, the name change of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority to Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.  Why the heck did they do this you ask? According to Disney, the change is showing the connection from the past to the present and keeping the history of the Disney attraction alive.  Personally, I think they changed it because so many fans still called it the PeopleMover and it was confusing newcomers to Disney, but who knows.

WHICH DISCOUNT TO CHOOSE?

Disney recently announced the return of its popular free Dining Plan offer for the fall.  During this same time period, August 15 to October 2, there are currently three discounts available for the general public—the free dining, a room-only discount, and the “Kids Stay and Play Free” offer.  So which one is best for you?  Obviously, there’s no simple answer.  It all depends on you and your circumstances.
