Nolan Woodall, You Taught Us Well

Many people aspire to make their mark on the world. It’s somewhat instinctual to want to do something so big that others will notice and remember.  People can spend their lives working tirelessly towards this end.  Then someone like Nolan Woodall comes along and sheds light on this truth:  It’s not as difficult as all that.

Why are you still here reading??  Head over and go get counted today!!  All it takes is an email to NDM30 Jackie G in GA with your first name, first initial of your last name, which group you fall into, home state and Twitter handle if you have one.  Once you’re added to the roster, Jackie will send you an email with your number and she’ll also tweet about it so the world will know you’re an NDP!

NDPS IN ACTION

Photo Credit: Steven B, NDI 80

Who needs snowmen when you can have snowmice?  In this photo, Steven B (NDI 80) created what he calls a “Not SNOW Hidden Mickey” in Atlanta.  Looks like NDPs can find Mickeys everywhere, and if they can’t, they make their own!

Do you have a photo or video of you or a fellow NDP leading a Disney Driven Life?  Send it to us at ddlposts@thedisneydrivenlife.com, and you could be featured in the NDPs in Action column!  Be sure to include your name and NDP number in the email, so we can give you proper credit!

NEUROTIC DISNEY PERSON OF THE MONTH

Marvin Gaye once sang, “Ain’t no mountain high enough. Ain’t no valley low enough. Ain’t no river wide enough to keep me from gettin’ to you . . . .”  As devoted Disney fans, these lyrics perfectly express the mania most of us feel when we have been separated from the “motherland” for any significant period of time.  This month’s Neurotic Disney Person of the Month doesn’t have to just overcome a river though.  She has to overcome an entire ocean every time she needs to touch home base.  Meet Janine P., Neurotic Disney Mom #275.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TIME

“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.”Walt Disney

One of the things that I hate to hear from people is “We went to Disney World once and hated it. We barely got to do anything!” My next question is something along the lines of “Really? Did you have a touring plan?” The typical response is “Not really, but [I saw the planning DVD/looked at the park map before/knew what I wanted to do/listened to my brother-in-law who has been there 3 times/etc.].” I’ve heard it from enough people that I have an excellent idea of how their first day in the Magic Kingdom typically plays out. It goes something like this:

NEUROTIC DISNEY PERSON OF THE MONTH

A Neurotic Disney Mom’s mission in life is to indoctrinate her family into Disney culture and nurture a compulsive fascination towards the Disney brand.  She lives to see her children develop a love for Mickey that is independent of her.  She breathes to witness her partner light up at the mention of a Disney vacation.  She exists to fill her home with pixie dust.  This month’s Neurotic Disney Person of the Month not only does these things but takes this mission to a level of which even the fiercest NDM must stand in awe.  Meet Scarlett L., Neurotic Disney Mom #259.
