In the last few weeks, surveys about countries that would like to be seen in World Showcase have been heard to be floating around the Disney property. Just a few days ago, word starts spreading that Disney is interested in possibly putting a replica exhibit of Machu Picchu in Epcot. It has also been reported that Disney cooks may be visiting Cusco to learn about the food and culture of Peru.
Could this be the beginnings of a new World Showcase Pavilion?
This country is steeped in culture, making it a great educational experience to fit in with the other countries of World Showcase. None of the pavilions in the Showcase are from South America, so adding this country would bring a whole new region. There are many different areas of the culture that could be covered in a pavilion.
Of course, these are all rumors and insights mentions from across the internet. No official word has come out of Disney about a new pavilion yet. Because they are reportedly looking at the culture and food as well as the one set of ruins, they could be using this as an idea and theme for Epcot Food and Wine Festival held every fall. This also is just another rumor.
Until more information is found out, we will just have to sit and speculate.

Interesting post. I have made a twitter post about this. Others no doubt will like it like I did.
