I go through phases with my scrapbooking. I can scrapbook for months, my dining room table never being cleaned off, and then I will put it away and will simply peruse my crafting magazines and websites for ideas. That may go on for another few months and then I will bring out the paper, pictures, stickers, and adhesives. My scrap booking also goes through phases. I will do a layout with pictures laid out in grids with lots of square angles and like it. The next thing I know I have done my next three layouts to look similar. I sometimes need to re-adjust my thinking to try something new. (I do the same when planning my advance dining reservations at WDW. I seem to fall back on comfortable dining habits instead of trying a new restaurant!)
I am about to begin my latest Disney trip scrapbook. In it, I am promising myself to try new things. I hope to take myself out of my comfortable box and to stretch my Disney creativity. I plan to attempt at least one new technique and am going to use colors that are new to me. I also hope to create some new layouts that use my Disney pics in different ways to tell our story. This album is my new phase. I am about to search out a new side of the scrapbooker in me.
My scrapbook techniques are pretty “old school”. I do not yet have a Cricut or an embossing tool. (I need some more room to store my “toys” first.) When I need to add a touch to my pages that uses any of these newer tools I venture to my local scrapbooking store and attend a crop. I love meeting up with similar minded crafters and sharing ideas and tools. At my friendly neighbourhood Scrapbooking store, there are many opportunities in a week to learn a new technique, try a new product, or simply work on my pages. My favorite time there is “Crop til You Drop”; a bi-weekly event where I can sign up to scrapbook on a Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.. I pack up my supplies and spend hours with my pictures and my scrapbooking friends. They have all of the newest tools for making my layouts amazing and I can use them while I am there.
My friends there all know about my “Disney Obsession” (as they call it.) and I am now their resident expert on Disney trip planning and Disney scrap booking. I share my ideas and love of Disney while sharing ideas over page layouts and products. They are my source of feedback when I wonder if my pages need more or less embellishment. They will be my support system: along with my on-line friends as I begin my newest Disney album.
Keep watching to see where my desire to involve more new techniques in my Disney Driven Scrapbooking takes me!

My scrapbooking ideas are pretty different cause I have so many pictures that I want to show I don't do anything to crazy as far as layouts and things go. I usually just use neat papers, pictures and stickers.. that's about it, haha. I look forward to seeing the new things you are able to come up with!
I run a Disney Scrapping Message board and we would love to see some of your work!
