Karen was born in Massachusetts and primarily grew up there with a few pit stops along the way. Her first trip to Walt Disney World did not occur until she was 14 years old when she went with her family to the Polynesian Resort. It was not until years later when she returned with her children and husband (for their first trip) that the real obsession began. Returning to the lobby of the Polynesian brought back all the memories she had forgotten, and ignited a Disney passion in her family's life. Karen currently guest blogs for The Disney Driven Life as their wedding expert and is co-founder of her blog, The Best Friends Guide To.

Previously I have talked with all of you about the Escape wedding collection which I have personal experience with. I actually would like my BF to go back and do it all over again it was that much fun! But today I’ll switch gears and go from a small intimate wedding to the grand Wishes collection.

  1. We did the Wishes Wedding last year. I wish I could find the words to express just how GREAT the wedding was. We STILL get comments from our guests on how much fun they had and that they’ve not had another experience like it. More people need to know and understand how the Wishes collection makes a Disney wedding affordable. I never thought I’d get past the first call with Disney. I was so afraid that they’d quote this astronomical price and that would be it. I had my tissue in hand when I had that first call but turns out that I needed it cause I was crying with joy by the time I got done with the call. Thanks so much for posting this!

  2. Hey Jami,

My names Vicky, and I’m getting married march 10th 2011 @ Disney. We originally wanted an escape wedding and decided to have the reception somewhere else. Now we have more then 20 guest who want to join us in the ceremony, with Disney making no exception to the rule, we have no choice but to bump it up to a wishes wedding. And change my reception location to Disney as well. So if you don’t mind me asking how many guest did you have at your wedding? And about how much did you spend? My fear is that I’m going to start off my marriage in dept. We want to spend no more then 20,000.We’re looking for a great time, great music, good food, and to dance the night away with the people we love. I don’t plan on getting any of the extras for example Micky and Minnie, the horse and carriage etc… Now as someone who’s already done it, do you feel its possible? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
