Living in Delaware her whole life, Jessica did not know much about Walt Disney World until she went at 13 years old. That initial trip, though, got her hooked on the magic. As the years went on, she did everything she could to learn more about Disney (including watching documentaries and reading books). She did not know many people that shared her passion until she discovered the wonders of the internet and the Disney community found on it. She has gotten involved with as many Disney projects as she can, including writing the weekly news articles for The Disney Driven Life and writing for her own blog, The True Disney Fan. Jessica has also taken on a position with Celebrations Magazine, working the social media aspects of the publication. Through all these platforms, Jessica strives to bring as much Disney magic as possible into her everyday life, and she works to share it with everyone she meets!

There are some new news and upgrades from the Walt Disney World Resort this past week.

Our first news takes us to Magic Kingdom, where some construction walls have gone up in a somewhat unexpected place, especially for this time of year.  There is some walls blocking the view of the graveyard to the left of the Haunted Mansion queue.  I was surprised they would be doing construction on the Mansion in the peak of the Halloween season, but maybe it will not last that long.

The other news takes us over to Epcot, where the new Duffy Bear was introduced.  Duffy originated as “The Disney Bear” in the US but wasn’t very popular, so they gave him the name ‘Duffy’ and gave him a sailor suit and sold him in Tokyo Disneyland.  He became a big hit and now they are bringing him back to the US to see if he will sell again.  Not only did they bring merchandise, but also a character for you to take pictures with and get an autograph from.  We will have to keep an eye on Duffy to see how popular he becomes.
