Natalie grew up in Nashville, TN. Married with one son, she lives on a farm. As if this weren't enough to keep her on her toes, Natalie also works around the clock due to being self-employed . Natalie often travels to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, giving her a vast knowledge of the Disney Resorts which she shares in her posts on The Disney Driven Life. She loves the research on the resorts and appreciates input for these articles as well. In recent trips, Natalie has begun making a habit of meeting people while in the parks. This habit inspired her personal website, Meet the Magic, http://meetthemagic.com. This site helps her connect to others as well as hold space for Disney fans to post information about their Disney related sites. Her goal with this venture is to help people to "Meet the Magic" of their choice.

The greatly anticipated Aulani Resort is set to open the Fall of next year.  The resort is located on the island of  O`ahu, about 17 miles from the Honolulu International Airport in Hawai`i.  The property lies beachfront on 21 acres of property in the Ko Olina Resort & Marina development.

While this property is being marketed as Disney’s third DVC property outside of a Disney park, everyone is invited to stay with Disney at this resort.  Disney has recently opened a website dedicated to Aulani.  Through the magic of pixie dust, Disney apparently already has photos on the site of an unfinished resort!  The Disney company is so amazing!

The booking appears to be available after August 30, 2011.  The resort will include 4 different room types as follows:

  • Deluxe Studios: Sleep 4 and includes a kitchenette
  • 1Br Villas: Sleep 5 and includes a full kitchen and a washer and dryer
  • 2Br Villas: Sleep 9 and includes a full kitchen and a washer and dryer
  • 3Br Grand Villas: Sleep 12, and includes a full kitchen and a washer and dryer

Photos of the rooms are also available at Disney’s new site.  All rooms appear to be spacious and include ceiling fans, tables and chairs, a balcony with an ocean or garden view, and a flat panel television.  While the rooms look gorgeous, the remaining Resort will entice guests with the gorgeous views of the ocean, the lavish vegetation Disney is so famous for, the dining experiences, and the Spa and Fitness Center!  As if all of this was not enough, Disney also has excursions that can be purchased.  These excursion advertised include cooking lessons, nature hikes, kayak paddling and museum tours.

There appears to be plenty to do there at Aulani whether you are a child or an adult.  What are your opinions of Disney opening DVC property in O`ahu?  Do you believe Disney will be able to fill their rooms in the years to come?
