The Walt Disney Resort includes 24 resorts! To get an understanding of how Disney prices their rooms, consider the following Resort Level lesson:
Each of the Disney Resorts is included in a Resort Level. The Resort Levels include the following: Campsite, Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club (DVC). These Levels denote the differences in price ranges to be expected, accommodation room types, and amenity differences. For each Level, room rates vary based on the season of travel and the location of the actual room.
For each resort, Disney has assigned a season based on the expected guest demand. For dates which demand is expected to be the lowest, Disney assigned those dates in the Value Season for that specific resort. The Value Season is also broken down into weekday and weekend. The rates for rooms per night are based on the season of travel. Therefore, if traveling to Disney on a budget, you should consider doing so during the Value Season during the week; these are typically the least expensive rates per night. If you plan to travel to Disney during the Christmas and New Year holiday, expect to be pay among the highest rates per night as assigned in the Holiday Season. Details on each Resort’s season calendars can be found at Disney.com or by calling (407) 939-7429.
In addition to the Resort Season calendar, room prices per Resort Level are based on the room’s location within the resort. Each resort’s rooms have been assigned as regular or preferred rooms. Typically, the preferred rooms are located either close to a pool or the dining facilities at that resort. Preferred rooms cost more per night than non-preferred rooms. Again, if on a budget, skip the extra costs of staying in a preferred room. You will have to walk a few extra steps, but it may be worth it to your budget!
Next week I continue our Resort Level lesson with details of the accommodation room types per level. The week following expect to hear about the wonderful amenities found per Resort Level!
