“May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go. . .”
March is the month of St. Patrick, shamrocks, and the proverbial pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow. No Disney movie captures the spirit of Ireland like Darby O’Gill and the Little People. You may not know that this movie resulted in Walt’s only acting appearance on the Disneyland TV show. He starred as himself in an episode entitled “I Captured the King of the Leprechauns” on May 29, 1959.
The movie Darby O’Gill and the Little People starred an unknown young actor named Sean Connery. Mr. Connery, of course, later gained fame as suave British secret agent James Bond, 007. But Sean Connery isn’t the only 007 to also appear in a Disney movie. Can you name the other actor who played James Bond AND starred in a Disney movie, and which Disney movie he appeared in?
The month’s winner will receive a one-year’s subscription to www.Touringplans.com. Submit your answer to ddlriddle@thedisneydrivenlife.com by midnight, March 31. May the luck o’ the Irish be with ye!
