So this October my family is going to experience one of the biggest ways to show your Disney addiction—my little sister will be having a Disney wedding. That’s right, folks, the tons (and tons) of Disney movies, toys, plushes, memorabilia, trips, etc. do not compare to the neurotic Disney-ness that comes with having a Disney wedding. Well, this great family event leads to my own craziness—my seven month booking window for DVC is approaching!

This will be the first time in over 20 years that all of my family will be descending on a Disney park together. So to help drive the good time we’re using our DVC points to book a two-bedroom villa, allowing more family to get high-end accommodations and enjoy their time at the parks. We’re also using our points to book my sister’s honeymoon.

Right now we’re booked at the Animal Kingdom Villas, which is our home resort. We love AKV, but my family is all from the west coast and only do Disneyland, so we want the experience to be extra magical at one of the closer in DVC Resorts. But where?

Well the first thought is Bay Lake Tower. Right on the monorail. Great viewing location for Wishes. Easy access to Chef Mickey’s, O’Hana and Whispering Canyon—all places we want to eat during the trip. What’s not to like?!

Then there’s Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club. Easy access to Epcot during Food and Wine Festival and the boardwalk provides a great atmosphere and night life for adults. Storm-a-long Bay for the kids at Beach Club. We’re right in the middle of all the action with tons of options for everyone.

Then there’s Saratoga Springs or Old Key West. Easy access to Downtown Disney food and entertainment. A much more relaxed resort feel that lends itself to just hanging out with family and enjoying one of the few times we’ve all gotten together over the past ten years.

So many options it is almost stressful, but that’s one of the great things about DVC. We have a number of resorts, each with a different feel, that allow us to tailor our vacations to exactly the feel and ease we want. And the best part—we get to have these debates for every trip we take for the next 50 years. DVC really has given us an opportunity to create memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

And so you know, we’re shooting for Bay Lake Tower for the trip before we board the Dream for my sister’s wedding on Castaway Cay. Then we’re hoping to book my sister’s honeymoon at Boardwalk. This will be an amazing trip!
