Disney Movie Nights – they are just traditional. They usually involve pj’s, favorite snacks, blankets & stuffed friends. But, in changing times, there is a new concept of movie night…themed movie nights. I love this concept for so many reasons. It is more than just watching a movie. You can include themed activities, food, & decorations. Our whole family becomes involved. From planning, to decorating, to clean-up, it is a true example of teamwork & a great bonding experience.
For our latest installment of Family Movie Adventure Night, let’s get cooking with Ratatouille… the story of a rat with a dream to cook. There’s tons of great family fun to be had with this family movie, so lets get started!
Decorations
Since Ratatouille takes place in France, simple restaurant decor would fit perfectly – a white tablecloth, dim the lights, a small candle for the centerpiece. But wouldn’t it be cute if your smallest guests had chef aprons & hats? Spoonful has you covered! There are patterns for a no-sew kitchen apron & a super cute chef hat, which also includes a picture of Little Chef himself!
Food
There are so many choices for food to fit this theme. You can keep it simple or go all out. A few ideas are:
- Linguine Alfredo
- Pizza Rats
- Croissants
- Top 19 Most Kids Friendly French Food
- Ratatouille
- Remy’s Cheese Cake
Activities
- Ratatouille Playset
- Coloring sheets
- Ratatouille Recipe Cards – while dinner is cooking, your family can create their own recipes with these adorable recipe cards featuring the cast from Ratatouille
- Disney’s Ratatouille Official Site – get to know the characters before the movie
