Itchy, fragile, glittery mess Princess dresses be gone!

Our Sleeping Beauty Mom Approved Costume arrived, and my little NDK was all aglow. She was so enamored with the softness of the dress and the beautiful “jewel”. She also loved the design of the dress & how much it reminded her of Princess Aurora’s dress. The collar was her favorite part.  Immediately we tried it on & the fit was beautiful. She was so nervous about it being itchy, that she had to try it on with her clothes underneath. It was bedtime, so we just rolled with it.

The next day, NDK was ready to really look at the dress. I pulled her other Princess dresses out from the closet & turned them inside out. We compared the itchy spots from the standard dresses to the inside of the Mom Approved Costumes dress. After seeing (and feeling!) that this dress did not seem itchy in the same areas, she was brave enough to try the dress on itself!

As I stated before, the fit was beautiful. The seams inside were not itchy at all. In fact, the seams that held the skirt to the top were even covered! The fact that glitter was not dropping all over the place was a big plus point, too. The dress gives the appearance that it is “heavy”. The material on the top & the long sleeves are made of velvet, but not too thick.  The material of the skirt portion of the dress is very thin. Please do not mistake this as not sturdy! It is a very light weight, durable dress. Absolutely loving the feel of the dress, she was ready to go see her princess!

While the story of meeting her favorite princess is a whole other story in itself (look for part 3), this dress was well made. I did wash the dress as instructed. The pretty silver trim on the dress is very fragile, and parts of it did come partially unraveled. I sent pictures to Mom Approved Costumes & the customer service I received was excellent! A new dress was on the way! I do honestly feel that this dress is well made & that the unraveling is due to the nature of the trim.

I would not hesitate at all to recommend them for all of your NDK dress-up needs. The best thing about this company is that they do not just cater to princess fans! There are super hero costumes and princely outfits, too. Did I mention earlier that they have matching dresses for 18″ dolls as well? The only downside is that they do not carry any sizes for children over 8.

If your little NDK is sensitive, or maybe you just want a beautiful, affordable costume from a great company, look no further! Contact Christy (NDM 510) with Mom Approved Costumes today & tell her NDM130 sent you!
