**Disclaimer – I received these books for review purposes from the Disney Book Group. All opinions are my own.

Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!

Hello again! NDK & I have a few of the next great line of books from Disney Book Group to be released this TUESDAY, August 5, 2014. This week features stories based on Disney Junior (our personal favorite!). The suggested age for these books is 3-5 years. But honestly, if your child is older than the suggested range, reading &/or enjoys the Disney Junior characters & story lines, then these are completely appropriate. But don’t take my word for it! Hear what NDK has to say, too!

  • Disney Junior StorybookDisney Junior Storybook Collection
  • Page Count: 304 * Price $16.99

We were so excited to see this story collection! Disney Junior is an all-time favorite in our home & this collection of stories helps add a little Disney to our bedtime routine! From the back of the book-

Explore Enchancia with Sofia the First, and sail the Never Sea with Jake and his crew. Help Doc Diagnose her toy patients; hang out at the Clubhouse with Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the gang; and have a roarsome time with Henry Hugglemonster! This fun-filled book features eighteen stories staring your favorite Disney Junior pals!

You can’t go wrong with a book that has 18 stories! But let’s hear what NDK has to say-

The NDK Review: I really like the silver on the page edges. It makes my book look special. I really liked the Henry Hugglemonster story, The Piano Lesson. I like the pictures in this book. The Royal Sleepover from Sofia the First is also in this book & that is my favorite episode. I really like to read the stories that have been on tv before. Now I have seen the shows & I can read the stories, too!

  • Brave Dragon
  • Page Count: 32 * Price $3.99

Brave Dragon - Doc McStuffinsA fun, pre-reader story based on the Doc McStuffins episode, “Un-Brr-Able”. From the back of the book-

Stuffy gets hurt in a game and is afraid to play. Will he be a brave dragon?

This book is adorable for so many reasons. It is based on an episode from the show, which makes the story familiar for young, early readers. All of your favorite Doc McStuffins characters are in the story in beautiful, full color pages. Short simple sentences & word repetition make this easy reader, well, easy for children.

The NDK Review: I think this book is a great book for other kids learning to read. I watched the show before, and the book is a shorter story than the show. Even though this is for younger kids, I like the story & Doc, so I enjoyed it.

  • Treasure of the Tides jake & the Never Land PiratesTreasure of the Tides
  • Page Count: 32 * Price $3.99

Yo-Ho let’s go! It’s an adventure with everyone’s favorite pirate, Jake & the crew!  From the back of the book –

The mermaids have invited Izzy and the crew to their secret Treasure of the Tides ceremony. But Captain Hook makes waves when he decides to take the mysterious treasure for himself. Now it’s up to Jake & the crew to help their mer-mateys stop that sneaky snook! Dive into adventure with Jake & the Never Land pirates!

This book is adorable (but not too adorable for boys to enjoy, too!) Beautifully illustrated, this book is perfect length for a reader or for being read to! The illustrations are just like the show, making this story very familiar.

The NDK Review: I’ve watched this show, too.  This book was great & for someone my age(7). In the book, Scully does jokes in the corners of the pages. That was my favorite part because the jokes were funny. This is one of the jokes – Why doesn’t Hook trust mermaids? He thinks they’re a little fishy!

Stay tuned! NDK & I will be back next week with more Disney story time fun! Let us know if you have read any of these stories- what did you think? Know of a great Disney story that NDK & I should read & review? Please share it with us in the comments below. We love story time!
