Move It Shake It Celebrate It Street Party is a great alternative to a parade!

Move It Shake It Celebrate It Street Party

Back in 2009, Disney Parks unleashed the campaign  “What Will You Celebrate?” Along with this campaign came the now famous Move It Shake It Celebrate It Street Party(MiSiCi). This interactive parade with catchy, familiar tunes appears multiple times daily on Main Street as it makes its way to the Hub in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Hosted by a super-energetic DJ, this party brings characters, floats, dancers and YOU to the street.

Earlier this month, the Disney Parks Blog announced that they are giving this party a new name – “Move it! Shake It! Dance & Play It!” Street Party – coming this fall. Stitch will be joining this party, along with Phineas & Ferb, and you will get to help vote for one of three current hits to be played during this show!

This is one of my favorite shows in the Magic Kingdom. I have always adored the energy & how this party gets you dancing! The character interaction is also a main attraction – where else can you dance in a Conga line with Baloo? I even made sure to include this in my Disney Parks Summer Bucket List. We tried to catch the party this past weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans. Due to the inclement weather we had, the last showing of the day was delayed. For the safety of everyone involved, the show was not to go on. The floats did come out with the music, characters & dancers, but it did not stop for a performance. You can watch this abbreviated version –
