**Disclaimer – I received these books for review purposes from the Disney Book Group. All opinions are my own.
Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!
Happy Friday, NDPs! To start off your three day weekend, here are three of the newest Disney Junior books to hit the shelves on TUESDAY, September 2nd!
It’s bedtime at the Clubhouse, and Goofy goofs again! This adorable bedtime story centers around all your favorite Disney pals in a Mother Goose crossover everyone will love. From the back of the book –
Oh no! Goofy has goofed again. He accidentally made all the stories disappear from the clubhouse library. The only way to get them back is to go to the Land of Fairy Tales and find the gold storybook. But Goofy will have to hurry if the Clubhouse pals are going to have a story for bedtime.
As if the story line and pictures weren’t cute enough, there are over 90 colorful stickers depicting characters in the story that are included in this book. Enough for your NDKs to create a Clubhouse Mother Goose adventure themselves!
The NDK Review: This story is about Goofy transporting into Fairy Tale Land. The story was exciting because he went through a lot of fairy tales that I have read before. It was funny because the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters were acting like different fairy tale characters. I really liked Minnie as Gretel the best. The baby dragon** from a different Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was in the story, too! Everyone who likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse should read this book!
**In a side note, after some research, the baby dragon indeed was in an earlier episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey and the Enchanted Egg (Season 2, Episode 20). NDK knows her MMC!
It’s science fair time! And Sofia and her friends will learn more than just science from this assignment. Friendship and teamwork are what this story is all about. From the back of the book –
It’s time for the Enchanted Science Fair, and every student wants to win. A few students might even want to win a little too much. Can Sofia convince her fellow students that friendship and teamwork are more important than victory?
The NDK Review: Sofia and her friends are having a magic science fair. I liked this book because Sofia tries really hard to remind everyone to be friends. That is a real important lesson. The Princess Lesson in the back of the book says “A true princess is always a true friend”. I didn’t get to see this episode & now I really want to see it. The stickers are the best part of this book. The front cover is really neat because it has glitter all over it! Sofia is one of my favorite princesses because she is learning how to be a princess and I like to learn with her. She is very sweet. You should read this book.
- Doc’s Big Book of Boo-Boos (Doc McStuffin)
- Page Count: 64 * Price: $10.99
I just cannot say enough about this book. This book is perfect for your Doc McStuffins fan. This book has it all. From the back of the book-
Doc always keeps track of her patients’ boo-boos and ouchies in her Big Book of Boo-Boos–and now you can, too! This book includes a Doc McStuffins story, lots of doodle pages, a poster, over two hundred stickers, and a press-out sign for you to hang on your own door!
The interactive story play in this book is wonderful. First, you get a regular story, based on an episode of the show. Then, you get stickers (and plenty of them – over 200!) to decorate & have fun with. There is even a beautiful color poster & a press-out sign that your child can hang on their own “clinic door”. The best part of this book is the boo-boo section. Made to look just like Doc’s book from the show, your NDK gets their own big book of boo-boos, complete with drawings from Doc herself. Doc left enough room on each page for your NDK to help draw more pictures from the diagnoses to complete the book. This is definitely a book your Doc McStuffins fan will want!
The NDK Review: This story is about Doc losing her big book of boo-boos. And she has a case of the forgetsies. Will Doc find her big book of boo-boos? I was really worried for her. I really liked this book. After the story there is alot more to do in this book! There is over 200 stickers! After the stickers, you get your own big book of boo-boos with Doc’s drawings of diagnoses! Doc wants you to draw pictures under her diagnoses, too. So I get to help Doc with her book! There is a great poster of Doc in her clinic with some of her friends, too. My favorite part of this book is I also get my very own “The Doc is in” sign! I can’t wait to hang it up & help my stuffed animals and toys, too!
Stay tuned! NDK & I will be back next week with more Disney story time fun! Let us know if you have read any of these stories- what did you think? Know of a great Disney story that NDK & I should read & review? Please share it with us in the comments below. We love story time!
