Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!
Tis the season, NDPs! The holidays are upon us. As you know, we are a book-loving family, and there is nothing better than holiday traditions that involve great books. In our home, we have shelves dedicated to holiday books. The gift of a book is a timeless treasure for a child. The memories (and family time) that you create with story time will last forever. Disney Books add to that quality of family story time, and here are a few great holiday books that are on shelves now. Be sure to add these to your collection this holiday season!
Who doesn’t like a great cookbook during the holidays? And is there a better way to get your little ones helping in the kitchen than suggesting they help whip up a batch of Elsa’s Snowy Mac & Cheese? A simple, easy cookbook that features recipes for any time of day, this book is sure to make your kitchen experiences magical! There are even a few recipes that, if the ingredients are packaged together in a jar, can serve as a magical gift. Beautiful gift tags are even included in the back of the book!
The book is divided into five sections, breakfast, lunch, dinner, sides & drinks, and dessert. Featuring over 25 recipes, inspired by different Disney and Pixar stars, this book will make your holiday meal times fun. We cannot wait to make To Infinity & Beyond Meatloaf. What little one would argue eating a spaceship shaped dinner? We are also planning to serve Sleepy’s Early-Riser Egg Biscuits on Christmas morning. NDK cannot wait to help in the kitchen this season!
From the back of the book:
Come on over! It’s lovely weather for cooking a holiday dish together with your favorite Disney characters. With simple instructions and colorful photos of each treat, spending time indoors has never been so much fun. Also included are special recipes you can make into holiday gifts for family and friends. Both stockings and bellies will be happily stuffed!
The NDK Review: I like cooking and helping in the kitchen. My favorite dinner recipe from this book is Olaf’s Mini Pizzas. They are mini pizzas shaped like snowmen! Never Land Hot Chocolate with Star Marshmallows looks so yummy. I hope I can help mom make that. I really like all the recipes, but I especially love the desserts! Cooking is something I love to do. Making food from my favorite Disney characters is just awesome.
Once again, you cannot go wrong with a beautiful, hard covered book that holds 18 holiday stories! This book is not princess heavy, so this is perfect for the whole family. There is a great mix of new and old Disney, Disney•Pixar, and even Mickey Mouse! This is a great book to have a different themed Disney Christmas story almost every night before Christmas.
From the back of the book:
Celebrate the season with all your favorite Disney and Disney•Pixar characters! Join Ralph and Vanellope as they throw a Christmas party just for Bad Guys. Trim the tree with Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the Toy Story gang. Follow Elsa as she tries to create the best holiday ever for her sister, Anna. This enchanting volume of tales brings the magic of Christmas to life with stories overflowing with holiday spirit!
The NDK Review: I really liked this book because the stories get me into the Christmas spirit. It’s a whole book of Christmas stories from different Disney characters. My favorite story is Wreck the Halls with Wreck-It Ralph. There are so many different stories – 18 of them, I counted. Each story is about a different character – that’s a lot of great Christmas stories from all of my favorite characters. I was so happy and surprised to see there is a WALL-E Christmas story, too! Oh, I can’t forget Mickey’s Christmas Carol. That’s just awesome.

A wonderfully sweet collection of holiday Princess stories, this is a collection no home should be without. Featuring four of the your favorite princesses, Cinderella, Tiana, Aurora and Ariel, become immersed in a different Disney holiday experience with each one! The book is beautifully illustrated by The Disney Storybook Art Team and hard covered, which makes it perfect for gift giving and story time traditions to last year after year.
From the inside cover:
It’s Christmastime and all of the princesses are celebrating. Cinderella throws a party, but there’s a merry mix-up when her Fairy Godmother tries to help. Tiana hosts a yuletide celebration and meets a jolly-and unexpected-guest. Aurora and the three good fairies attempt to whip up a homemade holiday. And Ariel surprises everyone with a Christmas morning treasure hunt. With magic and good cheer, each delightful story features a beloved Disney Princess and her family and friends as they deck the castle halls.
The NDK Review: I’m glad this book features my favorite princess, Aurora. This book is a special book. It’s a hardcover book with a sparkly front. This book also has stories from Princess Ariel, Princess Tiana, and Princess Cinderella. The stories from each princess were merry and there was even a bit of adventure. It’s fun to read holiday stories about the princesses and see how they celebrate too!
In a sweet Christmas story, Doc and all her friends are ready for Christmas. But, in true Doc McStuffins style, someone needs help and she is off to the rescue! This time, lucky Doc gets to travel to the North Pole to save the day! Beautifully illustrated, this story is perfect for any Doc McStuffins fan.
From the back of the book:
The McStuffins family is all ready for Christmas, but one of Santa’s elves isn’t. Tobias was supposed to deliver toys to Dic’s house, but he accidentally broke the present Donny wanted the most-a Commander Crush action figure. Doc wants to help, but she doesn’t have the right part to fix the commander. If they don’t find it right away, Christmas morning could be ruined!
The NDK Review: I really like the stickers because they are shiny. I really like the “Meet the Gang” on the inside front cover, too. The pictures are very colorful. The lights on the Christmas tree almost look real! Doc gets to go to Santa’s workshop in this story, and that is amazing! It looks just like a castle. Doc helps one of Santa’s elves and saves the day. I also learned about the Jingle Bells – a group of the best and most important elves in the North Pole!
This book is just adorable! From the glittered snow adorning the front cover to Snow Fairy Clarabelle, this book will have your little ones smiling and feeling jolly. Minnie is on her won adventure, with a little help from her nieces and Quoodles. A sweet, simple story based on the episode, “Minnie’s Winter Bow Show,” this is a great story to add to your collection!
From the back of the book:
Minnie’s Winter Bow Show is the event of the season! But when Millie and Melody take Aunt Minnie on an adventure through snow covered mountains, will Minnie make it back in tine for the show?
The NDK Review: Winter is a fun season. This story is like Minnie’s own mini adventure. Quoodles joined in to help, too. Quoodles is the girl version of Toodles. It was neat to see Clarabelle as a fairy in this story. Minnie’s nieces make trouble, but they help to fix the problem. The cover is glittery and the stickers are sparkly. The pictures are very colorful. I loved this story. It’s just fun!
