Traditions – they are what make your holidays and events special. Adding Disney to those traditions can make your holidays even more magical. Even if you have a tradition that has been passed down for generations, it’s never too late to add a few new fun ones! This month, we will highlight some of our personal family traditions that show off our Disney side. Want to share yours as well? What is your favorite Disney Christmas tree ornament? Our “just married” and the girls’ Mickey baby ears given at their birth top the list. Bringing each of the 100 ornaments or so out and putting them on display helps us relive each trip or occasion, favorite character moment, movie, favorite ride and specific year we made the trip to each Disney Park, like Disneyland 2014. It also makes it easy for people who need a gift idea for you!

To help ease the pain of leaving when vacation is over, make it a tradition to pick out and bring one tree ornament back at the end of each trip. I love to hear our girls laugh and share when they pull them out to put on the tree, “Oh remember this” or “Hey Pooh Bear”. My daughter shrieks with glee at each discovery. Sometimes we get two matching ones, as I think ahead of the day when they start their own family collection and will have this base of Disney magic to display and relive.  It’s a great way to share old and new Disney memories each Christmas season. Our tree looks a bit like Disney threw up on it, but I’m fine with that. And it’s a great way to welcome in the New Year which hopefully holds a trip and chance for new memories (and another decoration). I’m thinking we may need to start table top trees now themed to each character!
