Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!

  • sabine's art attack ndk reviewSabine’s Art Attack
  • Page Count: 32 * Price: $3.99 * Ages: 6-8 yrs

This easy-reader is perfect for your young Star Wars Rebels fan. Get to know Sabine in this great Level 1 World of Reading book.

From the back of the book:

Sabine is an artist on a mission! In this level 1 early reader, Sabine takes on an entire team of stormtroopers and adds her colorful mark to an Imperial TIE fighter.

The NDK Review: The inside cover of these books are neat – they are just like the beginning of Star Wars-a black page with stars and the words, “A long ago in a galaxy far, far away….” Sabine is from Star Wars Rebels. She is an artist and loves to paint. I like Sabine because she is creative. This is a great book for someone younger learning to read.

sofias cup of tea

  • Sofia’s Cup of Tea
  • Page Count: 10 * Price: $7.99 * Ages: 3-5 yrs

This adorable die-cut board book is sure to entertain any tea party fan. Who couldn’t love a story from a book in the shape of a tea cup? In this unique shaped book, Sofia attends a magical tea party and has all sorts of magical fun. Even the unicorns attend!

From the back of the book:

What could be more fun than a tea party? A magical tea party! Join Sofia, Amber, and Lucinda, the little witch, for a bewitching time.

The NDK Review: I really like Sofia the First. This book is fun. I like how some of the words are in purple. They are pretty. I like how Lucinda the witch uses her magic wand and the cups, saucers and treats put on a magical show! There were even unicorns in this story! The book is shaped like a tea cup and the front cover sparkles, too!

  • palace pets berry the bunny for snow white - ndk reviewPalace Pets: Berry the Bunny for Snow White
  • Page Count: 10 * Price: $9.99 * Ages: 3-5 yrs

In this series of touch and feel books, Princess Palace Pets introduce Berry, the bunny for Snow White. I know NDK is enchanted with Princess Palace Pets, and these books are perfect for those fans. These books add more life to these adorable Princess friends. See our review for previous Princess Palace Pets books, Teacup and Summer.

From the back of the book:

Berry is so happy to be Snow White’s palace pet. Watch Berry hop through a beautiful garden, gathering twigs and flowers for a small nest. Touch everything from green grass to a red raspberry!

The NDK Review: I like this book because it is a touch and feel. My favorite touch and feel page was at the end of the book –  you get to pet Berry’s tail. I love Princess Palace Pets. These books are fun because they have a handle and you can carry them around!

daddo in charge - ndk review

  • Daddo in Charge
  • Page Count: 12 * Price: $7.99 * Ages: 3-5 yrs

Henry Hugglemonster is relatively new, and quite the cute little monster too. In this touch and feel book, the Hugglemonsters have another adventure where Daddo takes over for the day while Momma is gone. It’s a funny story that any child can relate to. Be sure to see our review of other Henry Hugglemonster books that have been recently released.

From the back of the book:

Momma goes away, leaving Daddo in charge. Daddo knows just what to do-as long as he has the list. But when the list goes missing, the Hugglemonster house becomes a monstrous mess! Will Daddo be able to get it together before Momma gets home?

The NDK Review: This is another touch and feel book! This story is funny because no one knew that Daddo’s list was hiding somewhere no one thought about! This book even has a touch and feel pad on the front cover. This touch and feel book was neat because it had different kinds of touch and feel pads than other books. It had a sticky feel pad and a mirrored pad. Henry Hugglemonster is just so cute!

Sheriff Callie cat who tamed Wild West - ndk review

  • The Cat Who Tamed the West
  • Page Count: 40 * Price: $8.99 * Ages: 3-5 yrs

This hard-covered books features Sheriff Callie, everyone’s favorite cowgirl. Beautifully illustrated, this book follows the Sheriff Callie story line, telling the story of how Neat and Friendly Corners earned it’s name.

From the back of the book:

When Callie rides into the town of Mean and Messy Corners, she comes upon a group of scaredy-cat townsfolk, thanks to a mean bunch of banjo-stealing bandits! Will Callie and Sparky be able to tame this Wild West town and find a place to settle down? Yee-haw! Come along for the ride and see!

The NDK Review: Sheriff Callie is the best cowgirl in the Wild West. Sheriff Callie heads to Mean and Messy Corners – and it was a mess! There was litter everywhere. Everyone was scared of her at first, but she helped everyone to see that she was nice. This town didn’t have a sheriff because everyone was afraid. But then Sheriff Callie came to the rescue. The pictures in the book are pretty. I really like all the details in the pictures, too.

  • liv and maddie sisters forever - ndk reviewSisters Forever
  • Page Count: 112 * Price: $5.99 * Ages: 8-12 yrs

In this book, the sisters from the Disney Channel hit series, Liv and Maddie, come together in this junior novel. Included in this book are eight pages of photos that are shown in an “Instagram” style. This book has a great story line that follows each of the sister’s thoughts, including their brothers, Parker and Joey as well.

From the back of the book:

O-M-Wowza!

Liv here! When my snap-tastic TV show finished its run, I was so excited to go home to see my sporty tiwn sis, Maddie.

Hey! Maddie here. I was really looking forward to having Liv back from Hollywood. She even played matchmaker for me, which…well, you have to admire her good inentions.

Liv again! I wish Maddie’s confidence on the basketball court wold translate over to her love life. She’s a total catch-ESPECIALLY with her wit and smarts!

Luckily, Liv has confidence to spare. We’ll always have each other’s backs. After all, we ARE sisters forever!

Sing it loud! Liv & Maddie

The NDK Review: Liv and Maddie are twin sisters. Each chapter is written by a different sister, or even by one of their brothers, too! Liv and Maddie are good sisters. They help each other out. I think this story is for someone a bit older than me because they are talking about boyfriends at the end of the book. I’ll probably read it again when I get older.
