A trip to Walt Disney World is not complete, regardless of the time of year, without a visit to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. This unassuming, red brick, colonial building is nestled in Liberty Square inside Magic Kingdom.

When purchasing holiday ornaments, as much as I may like the character, it has to be holiday themed. Something about a non-holiday themed ornament on a Christmas tree just doesn’t do it for me.  On a recent trip, I decided to pop into the Christmas Shoppe to see if there was anything new.  To my surprise, I found a Mr. Toad holiday themed ornament. I am still not happy that the Mr. Toad attraction was removed from Fantasyland and it is rare you find some form of collectible in this character. To say I was a little excited is an understatement ☺

The ornament was perfect. Depiction of the character was spot on. Mr. Toad himself was made of porcelain, the detail and paint job perfect. His jacket was a felt fabric and he is holding a wrapped package. It was obvious – this was a ‘must have’ purchase and much treasured souvenir.

Now to count down the days until we put our tree up for this holiday season to proudly display this new ornament to my collection!

“Merrily Christmas from Nowhere in Particular.” Mr. Toad fans will get this ☺

Wasn’t a typical Disney fan growing up, really not familiar with the movies, characters and/or theme parks. Was a DC Comic fan. Was with the birth of my daughter that I was introduced to Disney. For some, it ‘all started with a Mouse.’ For me, it all ‘started with a Mermaid.’ I learned of the Disney films and characters through her eyes and now am a die-hard Disney fan. Been a Disney Vacation Club member since 2003 and get down to Walt Disney World twice a year and Disneyland/Disney California Adventure at least every other year. Am a HUGE Cars fan, reason Disney California Adventure is my favorite park. Radiator Springs is like stepping into the film for me.
I ran a website on the Walt Disney Classics Collection from 1997-2012 when the line was suspended. In 2007 I started my blog.
When not visiting the parks and collecting Cars diecast, am a Controller for an accounting firm in Pittsburgh, PA (home of the Penguins, Pirates and Steelers).
