Last week marked the return and a collaboration between Disney and MAC make-up. The last great collaboration I tried between these 2 was the Villains Collection back in 2010, I believe. I LOVED this collection. The colors were great and had an adult feel. I still have a small amount of this left and the packaging was so great i just haven’t been able to toss it.
Now in 2015, the Cinderella Collection has made it’s debut. This collection does not have as many pieces as the Villains Collection, but it is a beautiful collection.
The collection was first released on-line and it can be hard to decide make-up colors that way. I wanted to order, but was hesitant. Then, in a very short amount of time on the release day on-line, the shadow pallet was sold out.
I decided I needed to try to get the pallet and a few other pieces. I was told to try my local MAC store to see if pre-sell was still available.
I got very lucky some but not all of the collection was available and I even had a couple choices. In the end I was able to get the eye shadow pallet called Stroke of Midnight, the fluid line in Little Black Bow, lipstick in Royal Ball and gloss in Happily Ever After. I was really happy with what I got – it was mostly everything I wanted. Now, I just had to wait a week to pick it up.
I went to collect my purchase on release day about an hour or so after the store opened. The display was almost completely empty. MAC has a policy to pull the samples if the product is not available so that told me most of the collection had already sold out. I talked with one of the MAC artists and he told me people were lined up for a good hour before store opening and completely wiped out their supply.
Here are a few pictures of the packaging and products. Aren’t they just beautiful. I am also including some photos of the make-up I did this morning using the product. I, for one, would love to see more of these collaborations since it looks as if Disney Beauty products will soon be a distant memory.
My name Jill Laperle. My first trip to Disney was way back in 1978. I still remember the first glimpse of the Magic Kingdom with my parents. I even still have some of those unused original tickets buried in a box.
I met and married my Prince Charming (Jeff) and we have 2 Princes (Riley and Aidan). Mickey and Minnie were kind enough to pop in at our wedding (thanks to our parents) and we had an amazing Disney honeymoon. Both of the boys had their first haircuts at the Main Street Barber Shop when they were a year old. In 2009 we became proud DVC owners at Baylake Tower. I have graduated from the College of Disney Knowledge and keep up with that training just to help people plan trips. I made it to the second round for Moms Panel after years of applying. I will keep trying knowing one of these years it will be my turn. I was a beta tester for Disney InsidEARS. I may have a small obsession with Disney Dooney and Harvey Seatbelt bags. I also love collecting Disney iPhone cases, Chamilia beads and other jewelry finds. I am always showing a Disney Side in a small way. Anything else you would like to know just ask.
