If you ask composers/musicians Dan and Laura Curtis, who just happen to be husband and wife who are proud to welcome their first child, the answer is YES! (Congratulations, Dan & Laura!)
Dan and Laura Curtis live in Cardiff, Wales and have both loved Disney for as long as they can remember. They both remember wearing out VHS tapes of “Mary Poppins.” The work of Alan Menken and the Sherman Brothers had a massive impact on them as children which stays with them to this day. Laura’s favorite Disney movie is “Beauty and the Beast” and Dan’s favorite is “Mary Poppins.” They actually had their honeymoon at Walt Disney World, which was really special. When asked to name a favorite Disney park, it was difficult for them to choose. But during their honeymoon, Dan was partial to making poor Laura ride on the Tower of Terror more times than she would like, as it’s his favorite ride. They would both love to visit Disneyland in California some day as well.
Dan and Laura are award winning composers, producers and record label owners. Dan and Laura’s most recent album ‘Love on 42nd Street’ topped the UK and US iTunes vocal and Amazon Broadway charts. The album includes theatre legends, Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Mulan and Aladdin), Ramin Karimloo (Les Miserables, Phantom, Love Never Dies), Sierra Boggess (Phantom, Love Never Dies), John Owen-Jones (Phantom, Les Miserables), Simon Bowman (Miss Saigon) and Samantha Barks (Les Miserables) and is receiving international acclaim. Recent single releases with Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Cheyenne Jackson (Glee, 30 Rock) both topped the iTunes vocal chart.
Dan and Laura have completed an unofficial, short musical concept of Disney’s “Ratatouille,” and have published a storyboard style video to show how the songs would go with the scenes. It was recorded with a full orchestra and a large number of up and coming musical theatre artists, many of which have already had West End credits.
The concept is strictly unofficial and has been done in accordance with the Fair Use exception of U.S Copyright law. It is also a little fun gift to their fans, who have been asking them to do something like this for quite a while now, as many of them are Disney fans.

Growing up as a child, of course I watched Disney animated movies. But it wasn’t until my first visit to Walt Disney World as a young adult, that I fell in love with Disney. Since then the love as spread from just the parks and TV & movies to how I visit (current Passholder and DVC Member), to running (runDisney), and to Broadway (Lion King, Mary Poppins, Newsies, Aladdin, etc.)
But the biggest impact Disney has had on me is the people it has brought into my life. Friendships I treasure with all my heart. Some friends have become more like my Ohana (my family). For this I will forever be grateful.
