20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage was an attraction that opened on October 14, 1971 – two weeks after the park opened. There were 12 ride vehicles in all, which only sat 40 guests to a boat. The vehicles were costly to maintain, and the low-capacity led to its shut-down on September 5, 1994. The attraction was replaced with Ariel’s Grotto and Pooh’s Playful Spot. Eventually, these attractions were closed in 2010 to make way for New Fanatsyland and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
