ABC VR Experience  ‘Dancing with the Stars’ABC is letting viewers take the lead on “Dancing with the Stars.” For the first time ever, fans will be able to join the pro dancers and troupe members on the ballroom floor in virtual reality.  Produced in-house by ABC and “Dancing with the Stars,” the fully immersive 360-degree video clip of this evening’s opening disco dance routine is available on ABC.com/VR, the “Dancing with the Stars’” Facebook and YouTube pages, and via Littlstar’s app for headsets, mobile, Apple TV and the web.  

The opening number, set to Donna Summer’s iconic “Last Dance,” is choreographed by “Dancing with the Stars” Mandy Moore and features pro dancers Lindsay Arnold, Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess,Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Sasha Farber, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Karina Smirnoff; and troupe members Alan Bersten, Hayley Erbert, Shannon Holtzapffel, Dennis Jauch, Jenna Johnson and Kiril Kulish.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this brand-new experience to the fans of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Fans at home will literally feel as though they are right in the middle of the ballroom floor.  And it is definitely worth watching multiple times in order to take in all the brilliant choreography Mandy Moore has put together,” shared Dan Martin, co executive producer, “Dancing with the Stars.”

“We have been building an in-house expertise in this area and wanted our first project to be a visual feast, which it is. It truly captures all the excitement, glamour and talent that is “Dancing with the Stars,” added Robert Schefferine, VP of production, ABC Entertainment Marketing.

Hosted by two-time Emmy-winning host Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews (sports host and “Dancing with the Stars” season 10 finalist), “Dancing with the Stars” is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including head judge, Len Goodman, dancers/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
