With the opening of Disney Springs last month, a whole new array of upscale name brand shops opened along with it. I got to check out two stores specifically in depth while I was checking out the new Town Center area, the Alex and Ani store and the Vera Bradley store. If you were expecting the stores to carry strictly Disney related items, you may be surprised.
Alex and Ani
I have been a fan of Alex and Ani for a couple of years now. My only issue has been when it comes to stores, there are few and far between. So I was thrilled to see they actually have a physical location to browse and buy. While the store does offer its exclusive Disney collection, I was thrilled to see that it also offered their other collections. Collections that were out on display included a Sea section, the Sorority collection and a sports section. The store itself wasn’t overly overwhelming nor was it the largest store but I think the layout and the friendly associates made it so that you didn’t feel cramped at all.
Vera Bradley
Known for their handbags, this store has everything from their signature styles to their Disney collection. Again, much like Alex and Ani, I love that the store caters to both those seeking their Disney exclusive bags as well as those that are looking for the regular bags. But what makes this Vera Bradley store different is that they offer embroidery services right there on site, allowing any one to personalize their items making them unique. I also loved the fact that it wasn’t just bags they were selling but accessories like sunglasses. Considering my local Vera Bradley store did away with that section a few months ago, I am happy to see they are still selling them. The store was a little more cramped than the Alex and Ani but I love that the bookcases are filled with “books” paying tribute to patterns of the past.
There are several stores that are opening in the next few days and months which will only enhance the Town Center feel. Don’t worry if you’re looking for your favorite Disney items and memorabilia, the Marketplace still holds all your favorite stores. From the World of Disney to the Co-Op and Pin Traders store there is plenty to choose from. With the addition of the new stores at the Town Center and the favorites of the Marketplace both vacationers and locals alike, the new Disney Springs offers something for everyone no matter what you are looking for.
