In what hopes to be a series of books, this first installment is a whimsical retelling of the classic attraction, with a CD to go along with it!
The Haunted Mansion has always been one of my most favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom for as long as I can remember. It was also one of the first attractions I took my children on – even as babies. I have always said that every well-rounded Disney child should be able to sing along to Grim Grinning Ghosts at a young age. If your child has a fascination with the resident ‘Ghost Host’ or if your child is a bit apprehensive about visiting The Haunted Mansion, Disney Parks Presents: The Haunted Mansion will help get your child acquainted with the knell of a requiem bell! But don’t just take my word for it!

When my mom handed me the book, Disney Parks Presents: The Haunted Mansion, I got excited because I love the Haunted Mansion. My favorite part of this attraction is the graveyard scene. I thought the book would be about the Hitchhiking Ghosts, because they are on the front cover. But it turns out this book is actually a cute, children’s picture book of the Haunted Mansion! Basically, every time you turn the page, you are looking at a different room. The illustrations are cute and that makes this book fun for any age, even someone who may be scared of the Haunted Mansion!
The CD is the song ‘Grim Grinning Ghosts.’ That is the song that is played in the graveyard scene. The book is not really a story, but the lyrics to this song! I didn’t always know every word to this song, but now I know and I can’t wait to sing along next time we visit The Haunted Mansion!
I recommend this book for kids of all ages, and adults too!
