**Disclosure – I received these books for review purposes from the Disney Book Group. All opinions are my own.
Story time is always a favorite in this Neurotic Disney home. NDK (Neurotic Disney Kid) is old enough to read, but not too old to still be read to! Books are wonderful on so many levels. We keep them everywhere – even in the car! Disney Books are a great way to keep Disney at home. Disney Book Group was kind enough to send these books for NDK approval – be sure to look for the NDK Review after the description of each book!

- Hardcover * Page Count: 48
- Author: Catherine Hapka, Craig Gerber * Illustrator: Grace Lee
Princess Elena from the kingdom of Avalor has been magically trapped inside an enchanted amulet, waiting for another princess to set her free. Come along on this magical adventure and meet Disney’s newest princess, Elena of Avalor!
The NDK Review:
Sofia has a new mission – finding Elena of Avalor! As everyone knows, Sofia had to help Elena escape from the amulet, so she could defeat Shuriki (shu-ree-kee). Shuriki is an evil witch who wanted to take over Elena’s kingdom so she could claim it for her own. This is one of the books where Sofia writes the story, like Sofia & the Secret Library. The pictures are very detailed and colorful. The story is very easy to follow, even if you do not know anything about Elena of Avalor. This is the story that begins Elena’s adventures. It’s a great bedtime story! It’s full of adventure and excitement. I’m looking forward to the movie on Disney Junior this weekend! I recommend this book to all princess fans, ages 3 and up.
With over 100 flaps, readers will discover the enchanted world of Avalor with Elena and her friends–including rooms and treasures in her castle that have never been seen before!
The NDK Review:
Elena of Avalor is everyone’s favorite, new Disney princess. This book is filled with over 100
lift-the-flap fun your kids will enjoy for hours! This book is about Elena’s city, Avalor. There are words in this book, not just flaps. It’s not a story book, but each page describes a different part of Avalor. If you see little purple creatures, those are Noblins from Elena of Avalor: First Day of Rule, which you can watch on the Disney Junior App(don’t worry -it’s free!) or on TV. When you first open this book, the flaps are hard open. I would recommend that parents help open the flaps when you first buy this book so it does not rip. I think kids ages 3-7 will enjoy this book. I enjoy lift-the-flap books – I still look at all of mine. There is always a surprise on the inside!
