If you are heading to Walt Disney World this month, expect to see a lot of engagements going on. After all, love is in the air during this time of year. And what little girl doesn’t dream of feeling like a princess when they get engaged? But what if you are already married or engaged? What are some ways to celebrate your love while you are on vacation? Is there even a way to be romantic at the happiest place on Earth? And do you really have to spend even more to do so? Well let me tell you, yes, you can and some of it, you do not need to spend all that much more to do so! If you are looking for ways to celebrate the most romantic month of the year, here are some ideas for you to make your trip special for both you and the love of your life, no matter what stage you are in.

Go big or go home

For those looking to go all out, Disney has plenty of things to choose from. A lot of these things will cost you extra, and will definitely require some planning ahead of time and require reservations, so keep this in mind as you plan your gifts for your love. But, I promise, all of these things are well worth the money and are experiences to last a lifetime.

Take a Spa Day

Let’s face it, hitting the parks all day can be quite exhausting. Why not pamper yourselves? Six resorts currently offer outstanding spa treatment that make you forget you’re in the middle of Walt Disney World on vacation. They offer anything from facials to massages. And gentlemen, it is not just for the ladies! Time to pamper yourselves as well! Several of these spas offer facials and massages specifically for men. But why not enjoy the experience together, and do the couples or massages for two.  Prices range from $135-$390, but a quiet moment away just may be worth it!

The following resorts offer Spa treatments: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort)

Fancy a night out

Walt Disney World is known for their dining, and none are more highly rated than their Diamond award winning five star restaurant Victoria & Albert’s. Believe me if you are lucky enough, and able to get in there, do it! You will not regret it. Take a night off from running from attraction to attraction to get dressed up (yes, that means suit and tie) and enjoy an evening of unbelievable food, exquisite service and a surrounding that definitely fills the air with love . This is not the kind of place where you will want to rush through your meal, so it is the perfect place for the two of you to really enjoy, savor and take your time with. Want to make it even more romantic? Arrange for the chef’s table for a private meal where the head chef will mingle with you in between their 13 course meal and it all starts with a bottle of champagne to kick off the night!

Meals are quite expensive, and the dining plan is not accepted, but if you decide to enjoy a night around the table, you will not be disappointed in the least.

In room celebrations

Want to surprise your sweetie with something waiting in the room? Disney has you covered! Disney offers a variety of in room celebrations to choose from. These are the perfect way to celebrate not just your love but any vacationer, from the first timer to anniversaries they offer something. And your love will be surprised when they open that door to see their gift. That is right; it shows up in the room while you are out and about, so no need to be there when they arrive! Even more, you get to decide on which day it will appear.

It’s the small things that matter the most

If you don’t have the kind of money to drop on such fancy things, don’t worry! Some of my most romantic times (and some of my favorite) have not been when we go all out. Sure flowers, and fancy dinners are fabulous, especially at Walt Disney World (believe me Victoria & Alberts is AMAZING) but I have learned through the years that often it’s the moments that we do not plan that become romantic. Sometimes simply strolling down Main Street U.S.A, at Magic Kingdom while we are watching Wishes is enough. So if you aren’t able to afford the additional cost, here are some ideas for fun romantic things to do at Walt Disney World.

Evening for two under a Disney theme park sky:

Take a night to yourselves. Determine your favorite evening show then bring a blanket, find a spot with a great view and park yourself there. During these winter nights nothing is more romantic than watching fireworks as you and your love are snuggled under that blanket! When the show starts, take a moment to enjoy not only the show that is going on, but take a time to cherish the moment. I know for myself, my husband says he loves watching the expressions that play out across my face when I am watching it. My favorite parks to do this are Magic Kingdom, because Wishes gets me crying every time. And don’t forget Epcot, because you can grab a drink while watching Illuminations!

On the Boardwalk

Disney’s Boardwalk area is by far one of my favorite areas on property. I love everything about it. Especially the moments when my husband and I are enjoying a lazy stroll along the boardwalk at night. There is just something about walking it at night, hand in hand while watching the live entertainment that is going on that is so magical. Enjoy the shops, the sounds and the bakery together. And if you time it just right, you just may catch a glimpse of the evenings fireworks across the way at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Hammocks, nooks and campfires

I love finding hidden gems around the resorts, like the hammocks on the beaches at Disney’s Caribbean Resort, the campfire at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or the hidden nook at Boulder Ridge Villa where I can grab a book, right in front of the fire while my husband sits and catches up on the latest hockey news from the NHL. It is these quiet moments when it’s just the two of us that always stick out in my mind later on. Because while there is so much to do at a Walt Disney World Resort, we tend to forget to stop and take a moment to enjoy each other – the time and the reason we are here. Every resort has something special to offer that you can do, from painting to hot tubs to movies under the stars, find something the two of you can do together to make it a special experience.

Regardless if you choose to go big or small, remember it is often not about the money but the experience that you will remember. Here is to finding whatever it is that will make your love smile this Valentine’s season and may all your wishes come true!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
