Sherri grew up in Beckley, West Virginia watching “Wonderful World of Disney” every Sunday night. She studied art at West Virginia University, which led to an appreciation of Walt Disney’s genius as an artist. Later, she and Mark, NDD#102, met and married and only afterwards realized that they were both huge fans of the Disney brand. Since discovering that they are “Disney people” Sherri and her husband have made yearly trips to Walt Disney World, while raising their three children to believe that wishes can come true. While at work, she enjoys being referred to as the “Disney guru.”

Six degrees of separation Disney StyleA trip to Walt Disney World is a wonderful thing. We love to count down the days until we load everything in the car and start on our merry way from West Virginia to Florida. During our very long drive, we are occasionally visited by various Disney personalities. One or more passengers are sometimes mistaken for Grumpy, Sleepy, or Happy. We have even been visited by the Evil Queen and Lady Tremaine.

During one of these trips, my husband came up with a game to help pass the time. It is similar to “six degrees of separation”, only Disney style. We try to link two actors or Disney movies, using only theatrical release Disney movies. It was a fun way to learn some Disney trivia and pass the time.

We thought we would share some of our linked movies with you. The first one we are going to use will link the original 1959 “The Shaggy Dog with the 2006 remake of “The Shaggy Dog.” Here we go:

  1. Fred MacMurray starred in the original movie.
  2. He later starred with Kurt Russell in “Follow Me Boys.”
  3. Kurt Russell starred with Dave Foley in “Sky High.”
  4. Dave Foley was in “A Bug’s Life” with John Ratzenberger.
  5. John Ratzenberger starred in “Toy Story” with Tim Allen.
  6. Tim Allen went on to star in the 2006 remake of “The Shaggy Dog.”

I hope you enjoyed our first link. There are more to come. If anyone has a link they would like to challenge us to make, that would be great! We will do our best to connect the movies.
