Disney Pixar’s “Cars 3” shifts gears and heads out on a 27 city tour that is sure to please your entire family. “The Road to the Races Tour” brings fun family events, photo opportunities and a special sneak peek of “Cars 3” that has not been released anywhere. This is definitely an event to add to your calendar! The event kicked off Thursday at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World and offered quite a few activities.
“Road to the Races” is sponsored by Crest, Oral-B, Mattel, Dole, Coppertone and Alamo Rent-A-Car. Each sponsor provides a fun “pit-stop” with family activities.
The Crest/Oral-B Piston Cup Stop has a fun chance to spin the wheel and win a prize! Prizes included full and travel sized toothpaste, toothbrushes and temporary tattoos. There was also a photo booth with a fun photo opp that you can email to yourself!
Dole featured a “refueling station” with fun smoothie recipes and even samples of their “Pineapple Pit Stop Smoothie.”
Big fun is in store with photo opportunities with life-sized Cars characters. Lightning McQueen and newcomers Jackson Storm and Cruz Ramirez are all smiles and ready for photos with you and the family!
Mattel has a fun, interactive pit stop that features “Cars” character cars and Fireball Beach raceway!
Coppertone gives you a chance to experience a real “pit crew” moment – you have 30 seconds to change a “tire” in the pit stop area with a real drill – race your partner or just try to beat the clock! Even if you cannot accomplish this task, it is a fun experience. Be sure to smile afterwards for another fun photo opportunity.
Alamo Rent-A-Car offers a street art experience with a community-type coloring event. Step up to the tool box and choose a color. Join in the event and help create a work of art with everyone else. NDK (my Neurotic Disney Kid) really enjoyed being a part of the group project. Be sure to grab your color pencil pack souvenir, too!
The sports national youth program NASCAR Acceleration Nation will display the science behind NASCAR racing, and elements from the NASCAR Hall of Fame will allow attendees to get up close and personal with the history of NASCAR.
Last, but definitely not least, was the special sneak peek of “Cars 3.” This 13 minute special preview offered insight to the movie from directors and a clip from the movie that is only available on the tour. I can tell you that we are very excited to see “Cars 3” and the new characters it brings.
Be sure to check out the official Cars 3 Tour site for a full list of cities and times. Hopefully this fun family event rolls into a town near you!

Any idea how crowded this will be? Wondering if we’ll even be able to make it in since we don’t have the advanced tickets….
Hi Rebecca – From what I understand it WILL be crowded. I would plan on getting there early to be in line. It’ super cute & worth it if you have a Cars fan! Good luck!!
