Nearly 1,500 Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida children were welcomed by the majestic sight of floating mountains, cascading waterfalls and exotic vistas as they crossed the bridge into Pandora – The World of Avatar during a special preview just for them.
During this special sneak peek, children transformed into adventurers. Whether searching for the Na’vi Shaman of Songs, soaring through the air on the back of a banshee or journeying deep into the Valley of Mo’ara, these adventurers discovered a world beyond belief.
“As a company, we share a common goal with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida and want to see local youth reach their full potential,” said George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “By providing them with this special sneak peek opportunity, we hope the awe-inspiring world of Pandora will spark a sense of adventure, expand their imagination and solidify a belief that anything is possible.”
As adventurers of all ages walk into the land of Pandora, they are taken on an otherworldly transformative experience they will never forget. It’s a journey to a distant world where floating mountains defy gravity and unbelievable sights and experiences await.
Pandora represents a significant milestone in the history of Walt Disney World Resort as the largest expansion in the history of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Since construction began, more than 1,500 jobs have been created, including 800 construction roles and 700 operational positions.
