— Programming Commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month Debuts on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD —

disney channel logo collageContinuing its commitment to inspire kids, families and communities to create the future they imagine, Disney|ABC Television Group debuts new “Be Inspired” interstitials this month on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD.

“Be Your Best Snackdown” premieres Monday, September 18, on Disney Channel.

Lilan Bowden, who stars as Bex in Disney Channel’s hit series “Andi Mack,” hosts “Be Your Best Snackdown,” a cooking competition that features Disney Channel stars working together with kids to create nutritious and easy-to-prepare snacks representing different cultures. Stars include “Andi Mack” stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel; “Stuck in the Middle” stars Jenna Ortega, Kayla Maisonet and Nicolas Bechtel; and “Bizaardvark” stars Madison Hu, Olivia Rodrigo and Ethan Wacker.

“DuckTales Travel the Globe” premieres Monday, September 18, on Disney XD.

Inspiring Disney XD viewers to venture toward unique and nutritious food choices from around the world, popular “DuckTales” characters Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby depart Duckburg for high-flying adventures around the globe in a quest to be their best.

“Flavors of the World with Doc McStuffins” premieres Monday, September 18, on Disney Junior, Disney Junior programming block on Disney Channel and Disney Junior YouTube, and Thursday, October 5, on the Disney Junior app.

Inpsiring young viewers and their parents to make healthier choices, beloved character Doc McStuffins meets with kids and prominent chefs from around Los Angeles to discuss the importance of nutritious foods and healthy habits. Introducing kids to a wide variety of foods from around the world, each interstitial will feature a popular regional dish prepared with healthy ingredients.

Hispanic Heritage Month programming includes:

Disney Channel and Disney Junior debut interstitials that spotlight Princess Elena, from the Imagen Award-winning animated series “Elena of Avalor,” and notable real-life professionals from the worlds of music, science and sports, each inspiring kids to follow their dreams and be their best. Featured in the interstitials are Gustavo Dudamel, internationally renowned symphonic and operatic conductor, who currently serves as music and artistic director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Stephen Baca, esteemed entomologist who has helped clear a path for underrepresented minorities in the STEM fields; and Katie Johnson, professional athlete who currently plays for the Mexico women’s national football team and Seattle Reign FC women’s soccer team.  

Disney Channel also introduces its viewers to a range of Hispanic traditions and values through personal stories told in six original interstitials by actress Sofia Carson (“Descendant 2”), and “Stuck in the Middle” cast members Jenna Ortega, Isaak Presley, Kayla Maisonet, Nicolas Bechtel and Ariana Greenblatt about their families and cultural customs.

Disney XD showcases the artistry and cultural background of Jose Lopez, the Emmy Award-winning character designer of the highly anticipated animated TV series “Big Hero 6,” whose father was a mariachi. The interstitials take viewers to the intersection of culture and creativity, where Lopez is joined by local kids and his own children as they repaint a mariachi-inspired mural at Los Angeles’ Plaza de La Raza, a cultural center founded in 1970 that fosters the enrichment of all cultures. The three original interstitials will begin airing Wednesday, September 23.
