The Braves concluded their 2018 home spring training schedule on March 24 and will now shift their attention to Opening Day on Thursday, March 29, when they head back to Atlanta to begin the regular season at Sun Trust Park with a three-game home stand against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Atlanta’s young but impressive lineup contains several seasoned veterans and a bevy of talented newcomers, so watching this team this team all season should be an exciting proposition for Braves fans.
Several Atlanta players enjoyed strong spring training performances and head into the regular season with confidence.
First baseman Freddie Freeman banged out 15 hits including four doubles and two home runs for a solid .333 batting average in 19 spring training games, while second baseman Ozzie Albies belted three home runs, had 19 hits and hit .302.
Rookie sensation Ronald Acuna, Jr., led the club with a sizzling .432 average, which included four home runs, 19 hits and a slugging percentage of .727.
