Special Olympics athlete Andrew Ahearn of Pasco County, Florida, waves to the crowd on May 17, 2019, after lighting the Flame of Hope during the opening ceremony for the 2019 Special Olympics State Summer Games at ESPN Wide World of Sport Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The opening ceremony was highlighted by the final leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a 1,500-mile intrastate run that culminated with more than 500 law enforcement vehicles escorting the Flame of Hope into Champion Stadium at Disney. More than 2,000 athletes are competing in the two-day event that concludes May 18, 2019, at the sports complex. (Steven Diaz, photographer)
