A surprise for ME came in the mail last month. Normally, most books that come into our home for review are handed over to my neurotic Disney kid. But this one, spoke volumes to me. Now that we are at home, I actually have the time to sit down and enjoy a good book, and possibly learn a little something along the way!

Disney-bounding is something I have always dreamed of doing, but I have always been completely overwhelmed with the process of trying to “put something together.” I feel like I never have the time to sit and “plan” an outfit to wear out.

Leslie Kay, the creator of Disney Bounding, has complied her best tips and put them in a book…

DisneyBound: Dress Disney and Make It Fashion

“What would Rapunzel wear if she was a real girl?” This is the question that launched author and influencer Leslie Kay’s first look on her DisneyBound blog. Within days of sharing the look to her 300+ social media followers, she began getting more and more requests for Disney-inspired looks. Her blog grew to over 30,000 followers within three weeks, and eight years later, her community of “DisneyBounders” is now over half a million strong.

This book walks readers through every step of the Disney-bounding process, from choosing the outfit using items in your closet or from the local mall, to pushing Bounders beyond their comfort zone, to spreading good vibes. It also shows Disney fans and beyond that Disney-bounding is not just about playing dress up–it’s about community, about finding who you are, and expressing it through the intersection of Disney and fashion.

At the end of this book, readers will be left feeling inspired, empowered and ready to start a new Disney-bounding fashion adventure!

A true Disney fan from a young age, Leslie Kay dreamt of making the magic of Disney a part of her life, in one way or another. In 2011, as she planned her first trip to Walt Disney World since she was a child, she excitedly created her blog “DisneyBound.” What was originally just a space where she would share her travel plans and Disney fan art, DisneyBound quickly transformed into a major Disney-inspired fashion blog after she shared an outfit she pulled together inspired by Rapunzel.

Leslie thought to herself, “how would a Disney character dress if they were an average person in the everyday world?” DisneyBound became a viral sensation, and the term was adopted as the official adjective used to describe dressing like Disney Characters in an everyday way. Leslie and her blog have been featured on Today, Huffpost, Buzzfeed, HelloGiggles and Glamour. Leslie is also the co-owner of popular pop culture apparel brand, Cakeworthy. I really enjoyed flipping through this book and cannot wait to use her tips once we can play in the parks again. But who says that Disney Bounding is only for the parks? Disney fans need Disney magic on a regular basis, and this book is sure to help fans subtly show their true Disney side!
