What My Family Thought
We are huge Trolls fans. We love the colorful scenes and fun music. This movie does not disappoint. Your favorite Trolls are back with a new adventure that broadens their vision of the world and brings them to the realization that not everyone is the same. There are some moments that left us scratching our heads(see Is Trolls World Tour Safe for Everyone). But overall, the movie holds a great message, and has some fun music. Who’d have ever thought we would see Ozzy Osbourne as a Troll?
The Dance Party edition is fun. There are plenty of extra scenes and even a special bonus short featuring Tiny Diamond. Learning how to dance with the Trolls is a great way to change up the concept of movie night!
Is Trolls World Tour Safe for Everyone
Warning: This part *could* contain spoilers.
Trolls World Tour is rated PG for mild rude humor. I felt this rating was spot on. There are a few scenes that could leave a younger child asking questions, but nothing overly obnoxious, for Trolls that is. Some points in the movie were:
- the “birth” of Tiny Damond(nothing explicit, just not what you would expect – think seahorses)
- near death experiences of Biggie’s pet worm, Mr. Dinkles
- An extremely awkward “smooth jazz” hallucination sequence
I will be honest, there may have been a few other “head scratchers,” but these are the few that stuck out in my mind. Overall, this is a safe movie for all ages, just be prepared if you have little ones that like to question why something is happening.
There is more good in this movie than awkward, so please do not take this as a “don’t watch” message. Realizing differences and accepting them is the main take-away message in this movie.
